Lashing
asianews.it

A land of harsh justice:  Saudis administer a beating in a case unrelated to the party in Jidda.

Four hundred thirty-three foreigners were arrested by Saudi Arabia’s religious police for attending a party that served alcohol and allowed men and women to dance together. So far, 20 have been sentenced to lashings and months of prison time.

Los Angeles Times:

A Saudi Arabian judge sentenced 20 foreigners to lashings and several months in prison after convicting them of attending a party where alcohol was served and men and women danced, a newspaper reported.

The defendants were among 433 foreigners, including 240 women, arrested by the kingdom’s religious police for attending the party in Jidda, the state-guided newspaper Okaz said. It did not identify the foreigners, give their nationalities or say when the party took place.

If you live in Saudi Arabia you have to be aware of their laws and the harshness that several Western practices are looked at.

Saudi Arabia’s ruling class is worse than Iran and Iraq in its treatment of humans, if that is possible, but, they are dear friends of the Bush & Co. families.

Yes, yes our good Saudi Friends, the rapist tourists who believe woman are objects of abuse if they don’t have a husband, father or brother around to protect them.

Yes, yes the good moral Saudi’s who funded and encouraged the radical education of the young to use violence to further their “one true” relgion, or another way to get to the head of the line formed by people waiting to register their “one true religion”. Islam based upon plagarized Jewish scripture from the people they despise.

At lest half of their population kept in dependency because Saudi men are afraid of independant women. Yes, yes the wonderful moral and murderous Saudi’s---to have such friends indeed. No wonder Bush/Cheney value them so much.

Curious Georgie Junior needs to re-examine his arm locking techniques when hosting the Saudi Royals in our U.S. Oval Garden.  Also, Michael Cross made a good point about defining fighting a so called war on “Terror” would be much like fighting a war on “Jealousy” who, what, when, where why or how do “We” draw the line and on whom? Eeerily similiar to the war on “Communism” in my life-time and yet everything we buy take a gander--Made in China.

Not a chance it’s anti-Islamic propaganda. It can’t happen here. Anti-Islamic propaganda? Not a chance. Unidentified participants at an unreported location. Sure, I believe that.

If I remember correctly 15 or 16 of the 9/11
terrorsists were Saudis. Why are we in Iraq
when the real problem is in Saudi Arabia?
(We already know the answer!) Shouldn’t we
be bringing the joys of democracy to the Saudis?
But these “lovely” folks are in bed with the Bush family.
Wouldn’t want to start a family squabble.

Where are all the conservative comments when
this crap shows up? What? You think they make
this up? Try a vacation in SA and have a brewski
on me.

Anachronism is causing human schism in the modern world - again! We all need to abandon traditions and customs, and start to live an idealogically dynamic lifestyle, where your beliefs from birth to death, are in constant flux. I don’t like being told what I can and cannot draw, because of some ancient law in some ancient book somewhere. Grow up! We are the only species which enforces stupid laws on our kids early on in their lives. The 7-day week, 3 meals a day, competitiveness instead of compassion, and religion of any traditional form, are all anachronisms, IMO.
