Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice announced a $770-million aid package to help with Lebanon’s reconstruction. The war-ravaged nation is hoping to raise $9 billion in aid. Meanwhile, a Hezbollah-backed general strike and mass protests continue to threaten the tenure of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.

BBC:

Lebanon hopes to raise up to $9bn (4.57bn; 7bn euros) to help it recover from last year’s conflict with Israel and a massive public debt.

The summit is taking place amid ongoing anti-government protests in Beirut.

Three people were killed and more than 100 were injured in some of the worst street violence in Beirut for years on Tuesday, when a general strike brought the country to a standstill.

Hezbollah, which called the strike, has warned of more unrest unless Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora steps down.

Why don’t we take the foreign aid we give to Israel and use it to pay for all of the death and destruction caused by Israel in Lebanon? That would be fair and just since Israel destroyed the place. By the way What about taking the reconstruction money for Iraq and fix up the gulf coast?

Is this not wonderful! We give Israel the means to destroy Lebanon, and then give money to Lebanon to rebuild, so Israel can destyroy it again, etc ,etc. And all according to Israel’s plan.

Why isn’t the aggressor nation, Israel, paying for this?

To our Lebanese friends:

Don’t hold your breath waiting for the promised money from the USA. The USA is so overextended already they have some nerve suggesting they will help. WITH WHAT?

If Rice isn’t outright lying about the “aid package” there will be so many strings attached with so many Gordian knots you’ll all wish you never heard of such assistance.

And not a penny more for New Orleans. Yep, we have our priorities straight in this country.
Another rat hole in the desert opens and our benevolent government can’t wait to throw money in.
Who the hell in Congress is voting for this? Impeach them all. They’re worse than useless.

Dear Lebanese people,

Never never trust the devils, expecially devils with human faces. Don’t stupid when open your door and invite them in. $770 million aid package offer by a female chimpanzee will surely be a worse bait. Just throw it back to her damned face.
