Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has reinvigorated speculation over Fidel Castro’s health after announcing that the Cuban leader is “locked in a battle for his life.” The two leaders are known to be close, and Castro has yet to make a public appearance since undergoing surgery in July.

BBC:

Mr Chavez, a close friend of Cuba’s left-wing leader, said he hoped Mr Castro would recover but admitted he faced a hard struggle.

Mr Castro, 80, has not been seen in public since undergoing surgery in July and handing over political power.

Mr Chavez spoke at the Latin American summit in Brazil in a rare admission of the state of Mr Castro’s health.

Venezuela’s president said he spoke to the Cuban leader by telephone for half an hour several days ago.

“He is going through a difficult situation but just like he says, the machine that they have to fix is 80 years old,” Mr Chavez told the Mercosaur trade summit.

The role of the Cuban revolution has been to remind us that the spirit of liberation can never be extinguished, no matter what the odds.  Why?  It’s, like, “Hey,  I agree, going this route hasn’t been easy on us,  what with all the obstacles being put in our way by empire-USA..  As a matter of fact the only thing for sure is that I’m in charge of my own destiny here and now and I ain’t never ever gonna let go.”

I hope Castro survives!  And lives as a cucumber for the next 20 years.  There is a bed all streched out, while doctors and nurses try to revive his ass.  I hope he goes into some sort of comma where he knows whats going on but cant do or say anything about it.  I hope they let his body slowly go to waste and conduct all kinds of needle related tests.
I really like this guy….honetly!

I have read that the USA is planning a naval blockade of Cuba. Does anyone know what that is about?
