 Grenade Attack on U.S. EmbassyPosted on Jan 11, 2007
The United States Embassy in Athens, frequently assaulted by radical groups, was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade Thursday. The State Department says no one was injured by the explosion.

“The rocket landed in a toilet on the third floor of the building, which also houses Ambassador Charles Ries’s office.
“I am treating this as a very serious attack,” Mr Ries said. “The embassy was attacked in a senseless act of violence.”
It would really have been a diplomatic crisis, if Ries had been taking a crap in that toilet!
