McCain Hates BlogsPosted on Dec 14, 2006
Sen. John McCain has launched an assault against the independent blogosphere by introducing legislation that would, among other things, make bloggers responsible for comments and copyrighted material posted on their sites, with fines of up to $300,000.

“What I want to know is what qualifies him to decide what is or is not acceptable speech? The Founding Fathers would kick this guys rear end.”
Perhaps McCain has deluded himself into thinking he’s another Jefferson or Franklin, if they both happened to be overly-ambitious, massively hypocritical, kowtowing jerks.
There may be a ‘McCain Mutiny’ in the GOP coming up, appropriately, next fall. Joe McCarthy showed the way; Johnny seems fated to follow his lamp right over the cliff.

Here is the link to Pro-Israel PAC congressional contributions.
Check out John McCain…received $162,500.
What is all that money for? What favors does McCain owe AIPAC & Israel?

It’s so sad to see John McCain, who I considered to be someone of integrity, shun his oath to defend the Constitution of the United States, for political expediency. Perhaps the rumors of his being nothing but an opportunist are true. I respect his service to our country while a Naval Avaitor and POW. That’s where it ends. Remember, “Duke” Cunningham also sold his soul for a few pieces of silver. McCain is a cameleon amongst many and is starting to stink up the place. I hope he wins the repuglican nomination, so that we can trash the S.O.B and reveal his true character. (Just another Miscreant)

Oh…Johnny McCain is preparing for the route to the white house…yep! He is trying to position himself in order to receive the needed support from the Neocons & the ones who have the $$Dollars$$ for a campaign to the white house.
Look at where he is at right now; he is in Iraq with “Joe Lieberman”. McCain is there because he has the same goals as George W. & Lieberman for staying the course for this chaotic war in Iraq.
McCain wants Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) & Lieberman’s support & approval.
Its all for Israel’s interests that McCain & Lieberman are striving for.
Who knows, it may be a McCain/Lieberman ticket for 2008!
McCain received $162,500 dollars for a career total from Pro-Israel Pacs. What is all that money for & what favors does McCain owe ?

This is not the first time McCain has come down on the wrong side of the Constitution. Last April, during an interview on the Imus show, he stated,
“He [Michael Graham] also mentioned my abridgement of First Amendment rights, i.e. talking about campaign finance reform….I know that money corrupts….I would rather have a clean government than one where quote First Amendment rights are being respected, that has become corrupt. If I had my choice, I’d rather have the clean government.”
What I want to know is what qualifies him to decide what is or is not acceptable speech? The Founding Fathers would kick this guy’s rear end.

It seems that the Rove attempt to destroy McCain didn’t stop in 2000; now, Rove clones are joining his campaign and, obviously, giving him poor advice. I don’t think he could lose any more support from independents, moderates and conservative Dems if he tried.
I realize his strategy is to run right in the primaries to appeal to the GOP brain-dead and then veer toward the center in the general election, but McCain’s attractiveness as a candidate was based on his image as an ‘anti-politician’ who would tell it straight and wouldn’t place his party or personal ambition above his country and his conscience.
That’s all gone now—as a retail politician, McCain is nothing more than damaged goods stamped with a ‘Bush’ logo.
He may get the nomination but, unless the Dem candidates all sign up for Al Qaeda membership, I don’t see him winning the presidency.
To Wayne Strache:
Thanks for pointing out that ‘halo effect.’ I had never really noticed until you mentioned it here. It’s a typical Rove ‘visual symbol’ similar to surrounding your candidate with flags, cops or troops—you don’t have to read the article or watch the news show—the photo itself is the medium that conveys the message.

McCain needs to read the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The First Amendment was written to protect offensive speech because we don’t need such an amendment for inoffensive speech. The man knows about as much about the Constitution as he knows about… oh, lets say, rocket science or perhaps any randomly cited RFC.
Johnny clearly phears being swift-boated, and he should, even if just for his take on Constitutional Rights.

This guy is an idiot, plain and simple. He and BushCo and the rest of the RepubliKKKans don’t want anyone to have freedom of speech. And I, for one, would much rather have freedom of speech and a free press over an expensive, Tom Delay-type bought off government that McCain is is an avid, rabid example of. Let’s make sure we defeat this latest round of tyranny from the oppressors of our rights.

Indeed, the Nazi regime is rising again. Every day you hear of new “stupid” laws being passed all for the sake of security. These people have larger agendas and that is to make this country a communist one.
Senator McCain, we all have freedom of speech, if you do not like it, tuff.
The Internet is very powerful, and you want it squashed so people cannot let other people know what as asshole you are…
This world needs an enema, as “The Joker” has said!

I have great respect for Senator McCain, he served and sacrificed more for our country than anyone can expect,,,The problems he seems to face at this time in his life is bad advisors, there is no way he can continue to say things that slaps the common person in the face,,,he should rethink the direction he is going,,the sad thing is all the years he spend as a captive fighting for our freedom, he is trying to take away, so sad,,,,

This is one nuance of what I call playing the C card.
In this case, the implication will be that if you didnt vote for legislation that was nominally written to protect the children, youre some kind of liberal pervert.
The perversion, of course, is that all of us will all have our First Amendment rights abridged simply because there are child pornographers in the world.
For a story about how sexual predation is a grossly exaggerated problem, go to http://www.csicop.org/si/2006-05/panic.html. Someone actually did the research.

Note the photo accompanying this article.
Report thisI actually have a collection of photos taken in this identical setting of various GOP politicians; Bush, Cheney, Bill Frist, Trent Lott, Strom Thurmond, etc, etc, heads centered in the photo with the dome as a backdrop, giving the impression of a “halo”.
Strange, isn’t it?
Almost seems as if the photographer deliberately intended to convey an impression of “godliness” or some ultimate divine authority.
What really strikes me as odd however is that I’ve never seen a photo like this taken of a Democrat.

Someone should tell Senator McCain if he can’t
Report thisstand the heat to get out of the kitchen. He
need to be reminded what President Teddy Rose-
velt had to say about criticism. A voter has
a right, and an obligation to critize an elect-
ed official. When President Clinton was in off-
ice. Senator McCain did more than his share of
Critizing him, unfairly. I would like for him
to explain how the American voter is suppose
to believe anything he has to say. What I’m
talking about is John McCain during the camp-
aign for President, Then the John McCain after
Bush lied him out of the Presidential Race.
Then why as a COMBAT VETERAN did he go along
with the lies, so Bush could get revenge on
Saddam Hussein. If he was to dumb to see that
what makes him think he is smart enough to be
President of the United States, Who is suppose
to be leader of the free world.

The powers that be are afraid of the Internet because it’s so wide open. That’s why they’re trying to quash it. So what do we do? Well, undaunted by their desperate and brazen attempt to silence us, we simply ignore them and intensify our efforts to bring the TROOPS OUT NOW and to impeach President George W. Bush, that’s what. In other words we stay the course.

So that leaves a very small percentage to actually vote him in as the Repukes candidate. Akk, um I would start freaking out about how stupid this is or about freedom of speech or insulting this man I respected a mere 6 years ago but I think whether he knows it or not he just ended his presedential career with this one.
