Israeli PM on Iraq Report

Email this item Email    Print this item Print

Posted on Dec 7, 2006

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said early Thursday that talks with Syria were not possible and that Bush wasn’t interested in speaking to Damascus either: “I can only say that the opinions I heard from the president and from all senior administration staff on the Syrian issue are such that he did not see a feasibility in talks on the American-Syrian track or on the Israeli-Syrian track.”

Reuters via Yahoo!:

Ehud Olmert said he expected little pressure from Washington in the wake of the high profile report by the Iraq Study Group, which called on President George W. Bush to push for Arab-Israeli peace as part of efforts to ease regional tensions.

“The Middle East has a lot of problems that are not connected to us,” Olmert said at a conference in Tel Aviv.

“I am not convinced that this report foists all of the U.S.‘s troubles on Israel’s shoulders.”

The region has always been rife with conflict fueled by egotism and paranoia; an highly contagious affliction.  Throw oil into the mix and the paranoia spreads to all corners of the planet.  Isreal has no oil.  It is all in the hands of it’s perceived enemies. It does however have one card that it continues to utilize to trump all others(in it’s eyes).  The Chosen People of God.  As such, it has a mandate from the highest authority to perform whatever acts necessary to exert it’s dominance over all others (even including the USA).  Common sense, morality, self respect and respect for the God given lives and rights of others take a back seat to the endgoal. And with that mindset, evil is all a matter of perception.  Isreal will never stop until it gains, through whatever means necessary, ultimate domination of us all.

Well said Ed.

If I may add the following facts to all the people on this forum, to all my fellow Americans & to all the people of the world:

- WHICH COUNTRY IN THE MIDDLE-EAST HAS UNDECLARED STOCKPILES OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS?

- WHICH COUNTRY IN THE MIDDLE-EAST HAS UNDECLARED STOCKPILES OF CHEMICAL & BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS?

- WHICH COUNTRY IN THE MIDDLE-EAST HAS NO OUTSIDE INSPECTIONS OF ITS NUCLEAR, CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL FACILITIES / FACTORIES?

- WHICH COUNTRY IN THE MIDDLE-EAST HAS KIDNAPPED AND JAILED ITS WHISTLE BLOWER, MORDECHAI VANUNU?

- WHICH COUNTRY IN THE MIDDLE-EAST HAS “WMD’S”?

- IT IS NOT IRAQ !  IT IS NOT IRAN!

- YOU MAY HAVE GUESSED IT.  IT IS…ISRAEL!

Why does the U.S. have double standards when dealing with Israel about its undeclared stockpiles of “WMD’S”?

No one dares to speak out from our elected officials! What a damn shame on all of us!

Bush, Cheney & the rest of the “Pentagon Gang” that I named in my previous comment know these details & facts.

So why the Iraq war for “WMD’S”? Israel & AIPAC are 500% for the Iraq war.

Our young men & women are dying for lies about “WMD’S”.

One wonders what the “Pentagon Gang” has on Bush, Cheney & Rumsfeld!!!

Isn’t it time to stop supporting arrogance and apartheid? The intransigence of Israeli hard liners needs to stop being underwritten in American blood and taxpayer dollars because we are just being used by these zealots as though we are some unthinking Golem that can be unleashed as a proxy warrior. Just note the tone of these people in a Reuters piece entitled:  Israelis piqued by nuclear “confirmation”.

This is regarding new Defense Secretary Robert Gates’ acknowledgement that Israel is a nuclear power:

“It’s quite unprecedented,” a retired Israeli diplomat told Reuters on Thursday when asked about Gates’s testimony. “I can only assume he has yet to get to grips with the understandings that exist between us and the Americans.”

To hell with Israel! Unless they are prepared to abandon their abysmal human rights abuses then America needs to cut them loose like the petulant children that they are throwing temper tantrums now that the neocon agenda has been exposed and their influence over U.S. foreign policy threatened. If Americans had any semblance of an honest media they would be horrified if given an opportunity to glimpse the true faces of the wolves that they have been bedding down with against our own national best interest.

Actually Bush should be talking to Israel.  Gideon Levy writes in “Ha’aretz” that the Israeli army “has been rampaging through Gaza - there’s no other word to describe it - killing and demolishing, bombing and shelling, indiscriminately.”

Jennifer Loewenstein writes of the Palestinian situation in Gaza, “Servility to power doesn’t get more insidious or malignant than this.”

After he takes care of that atrocity, Bush can talk to Syria and Iran with a clearer conscience.

Syria wants to restart the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, secure the return of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and avoid renewed civil war in Lebanon.  (Then, of course, Bush can’t talk to Iran without lying through his teeth because Iran wants assurances that Bush does not seek regime change in Iran - which is on the neocon agenda, the one that must be obeyed.)

One of the many reasons the president used to justify the Iraq misadventure was to make Iraq adhere to UN resolutions.

How about we do the same for all the rest of the countries in the Middle East, including Israel?

The Israeli Prime Minister is reminding our President of his commitment to Israel, that it should take precedence over achieving progress in Iraq and the Middle East generally. He is also rallying Israel’s allies in Congress, to pressure the President and disregard the ISG recommendation on talks with Iran and Syria. Critics of such claims are quick to play down AIPAC’s influence. This becomes an interesting test, since not talking to Syria and Iran retains the disasterous status quo at great cost to America.

Israeli priminister Olmert is screaming for the U.S. & Bush not to talk to Syria & Iran.

AIPAC & Israel have been in almost total control of American policy in the Middle-East. So long as the Iraq war & other problems in the Mid-East exist, Israel can continue with its BRUTAL policy of occupation of the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem & the Golan Heights in defiance of International law &  UN resolutions 242 & 338.

The Iraq war is shifting the attention away from Israel & its apartheid policies against the Palestinians. This way Israel doesn’t have to do anything with the peace process; it can’t just continue with building new settlements “Jewish Colonies” in the West Bank & East Jerusalem while the attention of the U.S. & the world is on IRAQ.

AIPAC & Israel would love for the Iraq war to continue & for others to get started. They are only looking for their best interests.

They want that American aid to continue to flow at $3-5 billion dollars per year, but also, they want to dictate to Bush & his incompetent staff about American policy in the region.

Henry Kissinger, Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, Elliott Abrams, Adelman, Ari Fleischer, Jeffrey Berkowitz, Scooter Libby, Paul Wolfowitz, Michael Chertoff, Josh Bolten, Jay Zeidman, Ken Mehlman…and others have actively worked diligently to start the Iraq war & are actively directly or indirectly working to keep it going. All for a foreign country…ISRAEL!

Remember, Iran and Syria call for Israel’s destruction. Iran said that the holocaust is a hoax. To the blame Israel first crowd, it’s Iran and Syria’s fault, not Israel’s.
