New York City Bans Trans FatsPosted on Dec 5, 2006
New York City’s Board of Health has backed Mayor Bloomberg’s campaign to eliminate artificial trans fats from eateries, setting an initial deadline of July 1, 2007. Artificial trans fats are thought by health professionals to be a leading cause of heart disease.

It is nice to know that a ban on a non necessary food item will not be allowed. There are so many other kind of oils that can be used. This is not a hardship on local restaurants.

I am neither living nor working in NYC but I have to say Bloomberg did an excellent job.
Report thisWhen he sworn in as the mayor, the city was in huge financial deficits, the legacy of former mayor Guiliani who’s addicted to spend spend spend and more of it. Now the book is in order, a feat which no republican has achieved so far.
