The U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires has denied reports that it asked the Bush twins to leave the country after a purse-snatching incident became a national joke at the expense of the U.S. Secret Service.  ABC News had reported that the embassy “strongly suggested” that Jenna and Barbara fly home.

Reuters via Yahoo!:

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Reuters) - The U.S. Embassy in Argentina rejected reports that it had told President George W. Bush’s twin daughters to leave the country after a widely publicized purse-snatching incident.

ABC News reported on its Web site on Monday that embassy officials had “strongly suggested” that the twins, Jenna and Barbara Bush, cut short their visit to Buenos Aires due to security concerns.

Argentine officials confirmed last week that one of Bush’s daughters had her purse stolen in San Telmo, a neighborhood popular with tourists. The incident led to teasing by Argentine media about the twins’ seemingly ineffective Secret Service bodyguards.

Ahem… What they forgot to mention and what is being said here in Buenos Aires is that the twins have had to change neighbourhoods a couple of times (from the Centre to Recoleta to Palermo): they were kicked out of their hotels for various incidents involving lots of noise in the corridors at ungodly hours, copious amounts of alcohol and not enough clothes…
Chips off the old block, eh? Off to conquer hearts and minds in their own special way. How sweet.

What a switch!!  Its usually the bushies snatching da purse. Halburton &  Blackwater NEED the billions being stolen from the Iraqi people by the U.S. and given to them to pay bribes and contribute to their enablers political action committees.  Hard 2 believe anyone would have the nerve to try to recover some of the stolen money…....They better put a stop 2 this so the wogs don’t start trying 2 get back the LAND which was stolen by the U.S England tooo—-and ahhh Austraila from Abab people for example.

How much do our tax payers spend vaguely for the secret services to protect these young princesses ?

The US embassy in Buenos Aires has to send them back to their parents then ground them for ever !

If they’re a national joke in Argentina, let’s hope it’s better than the lame one they told at the Republican National Convention…
