College GOP’ers to Offer Caucasian Scholarship

Daily Free Press:

Looking to draw attention to what they call the “worst form of bigotry confronting America today,” Boston University’s College Republicans are circulating an application for a “Caucasian Achievement and Recognition Scholarship” that requires applicants be at least 25 percent Caucasian.

“Did we do this to give a scholarship to white kids? Of course not,” the scholarship reads. “Did we do it to trigger a discussion on what we believe to be the morally wrong practice of basing decisions in our schools and our jobs on racial preferences rather than merit? Absolutely.”

The scholarship, which is privately funded by the BUCR without the support of the university, is meant to raise awareness, group members say. BUCR member argue that racial preferences are a form of “bigotry.” The group has a similar view on affirmative action.

How do you figure that we owe every black person or everyone who could show 25% Black ancestry at least $250,000?? I’m sorry I work hard for my money and I’m not about to give it away to people who already get free health care. I’m not raciest as every one says on here, but I believe in equal rights… if the “African Americans” and “Hispanics” can have their scholarships then so can the Caucasians. They call it raciest when we want a Caucasian scholarship? I just don’t understand. Do the Germans pay the Jews that they enslaved and murdered? NO! And would you like to know why? It’s because the Germans in 2008 are not Nazis… just like the White Americans in 2008 are not slave owners. It is in the past… So please don’t ask for handouts, you are not under privileged!

Maybe if you got off your fat ass and stopped creating internet drama, you would realize that all you efforts to make me the bad guy only makes you look like an ignorant woman not even worthy of breeding stock. Perpetuate? Is that a new word you learned in sensitivity training today? Pfft. Go back to Oprah you philistine.

Congratulations, you sure can stereotype! So lets extend your post to include black groups. Stabbings weekly between neighbors. No child can grow up without drugs. Few people make it out of the projects even though they have free education and scholarships. And lets not forget the fried chicken clogging their arteries so they spend more time in the ER, spending my money since they don’t have a job or insurance.

It looks like you are the one racist and stereotyping, “Maybe if whites didn’t have the shortcomings of compassion and respect for other’s feelings”

What makes you think all whites are like that? Do you think you are better than other people just because you are not white? I have met alot of people, white and black, who were rude and ignorant. It is people like you who perpetuate racism.

Maybe if people like you got their heads out of their rear ends and started doing things for themselves instead of relying on handouts, other people might start to respect you.

But that won’t happen, will it?

Your are absolutely right! I found your comment because I looked up scholarships for the white race and found your comments. I want to know where to find the white scholarship websites? You don’t see it on the web. So what is a white person to do? Are whites to proud to help the ones who are less fortunate. Look how much money our country wastes to help other countries but can’t help their own,HERE. We suffer while others get all the education and send them over here to get FREE education and the whites have to survive. I don’t own any slaves either and should not have to pay for others mistakes.

I’m a college student myself, and I am all for the new “Caucasian Only” Scholarship. All I have to say is, It’s about damn time! I am a lower-middle class white female and I definitely need some sort of aid, but the only scholarships I can find are those for minorities. I am sorry to say, but where I live in South Florida, I AM THE MINORITY!! The majority of my college is “minority”, but as defined a minority is a group differing, especially in race, religion, or ethnic background, from the majority of a population. So maybe whites should have a “minority scholarship”! I’m against racism, which is extremely difficult living in South Florida this day in time, but I am sick and tired of people (Blacks, Hispanics, Indians, Asians...) thinking that we (white people) owe them something. I agree that we should help those that we have directly hurt in the past, such as slaves, but I could honestly care less about how the rest of their family goes to college. I myself never had slaves, neither have my parents, or even grandparents, so why should I have to suffer for other peoples mistakes? I’m getting a little off topic here, but I feel very strongly about this issue. Before I cause an online riot, I’m going to conclude my opinion; White students need an individualized scholarship, just like the Black and Hispanic students have theirs. I’m sure that there are many people out there that feel the same as I do, but don’t voice their opinions because they’re scared that they are going to break untouched grounds. Don’t be scared, be proud, just like everyone else!

Remember, where I live, whites are the minority.

Iam a senior looking for scholarships right now, I have to say… Its hard to get a scholarship if your not Black, Indian, Mexican, or any other kind of race. Not just that, but you have to be dirt poor to even be eligible. Im white and i live in a middle class to lower-middle class household. The rich can pay their way while blacks and poor people get special treatmant. What do I get? Not a damn thing. why? because Im not black? Im not Indian? Poor? Its not fair. Im not racist, by no means, but Im tired of black people acting like I owe them something. Race shouldnt even be put on an application, your qulifications are what should really count…

I am a white female, and I completely understand what is being said by offering that scholarship. I am married to a Hispanic male who has no problems getting scholarships, yet I have had no luck with any. My GPA is significantly higher than his as well as my participation in organizations. I had to start at a community college and am now struggling to pay for school at University level. I find it to be extremely unfair. I have read the arguments that there are tons of scholarships aimed at primarily white students, but the problem is that there are thousands of students applying for these, with mommy and daddy helping, as well as everyone else free to apply! There are many white students in my situation, relying only on myself to get through school, with nothing aimed at me to help. I have been to the scholarship sites that others have pointed out in the comments here, yet I have no proof of ethnic background, so again I am without.

I believe we owe the blacks a chance in their own nation, we spend so much money helping countries that hate us, when we could have made them their own chance in their own country. I think the term “racist” is outdated due to it’s unfeasible application in society today. Maybe if whites didn’t have the shortcomings of compassion and respect for other’s feelings we wouldn’t be having an argument about rights or possibilities. Fickle altruists trying to grab a chance at vindication.

One Million White Ethnic Scholarships Don’t Trouble Student Group Protesting Minority Scholarships
[/url]

The Daily Free Press, the student
newspaper at Boston University, recently ran an article covering the activities of a Republican student group that was
seeking to draw attention to what they call the “worst form of bigotry
confronting America today,” Boston University’s College Republicans are
circulating an application for a “Caucasian Achievement and Recognition
Scholarship” that requires applicants be at least 25 percent Caucasian.
Joe Mroszczyk president of the student group, Boston University College
Republicans, told the college’s BU Today Web
site “We think giving out a scholarship based on any race is crazy” I would ask
Joe is it “crazy” only when the targeted ethnic groups are people of color? To
expose the glaring hypocrisy and double standards that Joe is self-righteously
engaging in I did a quick Internet search on various “white” ethnic scholarship
search terms and got large number of hits. If Joe is so opposed to scholarships
that have an ethnic focus, I would suggest he include in his noble crusade
ethnic scholarships for students from the following ethnicities as well:
Number of returned results on Google for the following searches:

* Polish-American scholarships ~ 57,100
* Irish American scholarships ~ 131,000
* Italian American scholarships ~ 223,000
* Jewish scholarships ~ 808,000
* German American scholarships ~ 142,000

In order to further illustrate the gross hypocrisy that underlies the
incendiary claims made by Mr. Mroszczyk, I have compiled a small sampling of
the plethora of white ethnic scholarships.

Scholarships that are targeted towards some ethnic group or another literally
number in the millions. The overwhelming majority of these ethnic-scholarships
are NOT targeted towards minority groups. These awards are usually NOT for
groups that HAVE been historically disadvantaged in our society – but rather
they target various white ethnic groups such as those listed above.

everybody should be treated equally, no one person is better than anybody else. as a child i was taught to not judge a book by the cover and never in my life have i. whether black or white, short or tall, rich or poor, blonde or brunette, everybody needs a friend and it hurts peoples feeling to be judged and for nobody to like them. people have their sweet sides they just need others to help them bring it out. love is all around. make a friend and have a great stress free life, not worrying about color or differences.

We are on the road from being a nation of giants to become liliputians with all the affirmative action sacred cows elevated to positions of influence.
Check all the associations of color at universities and local and federal governments. Disgusting. This is government that promotes balkanization. What balkans were and are as a result. We will slide to a second world status nation.
Time to have associations of people of European descent.

This opens up some new areas for entertainment:

-- How about a “White Paper Chase” reality TV show on Fox (of course). Comfortable middle-class kids vie for Caucasian Scholarships, the winners decided by such events as best survival techniques at an X-Box store crush, fastest consumption of junk food, most physical cruelty to the homeless, lowest pants-hang without falling off, most extreme wearing of a baseball cap, largest number of cheap highs from household products, quickest identification of corporate logos in a mall, and farthest distance of alienation from their overworked yuppie parents.

-- Bill O’Reilly could write of the horrible degradation and cruelty he faced growing up in the suburbs in “White Like Me.” (Wait, I think he already has.)

-- George W. Bush would bring a tear to the eye of every over-privileged scion who was forced to sign a contract keeping people of color out of his exclusive Houston neighborhood in “Pale Lease Rider.”

The point of this scholarship has been served. A fresh conversation on racism is healthy. All too often people shy away from the hard issues. To truly embrace the beautiful diversity this country has to offer, we need to recognize our differences as positive for society. Celebrating our diversity through conversation is exactly what that student group is trying to do. They have ignited a firestorm intentionally. For that, for the conversation they have started, they should be proud.

I agree, no more special privileges for Blacks, that is unfair.

They should struggle like everyone else but speaking of fair play, Blacks do deserve reparations to pay for the work that their ancestors did at unfair compensation and lack of freedom. I figure we owe each Black person defined as everyone who could show 25% Black ancestry at least $250,000. That would be fair as it is compensation for actual work done.

This is a great move to bring this issue to light. I really disagree with all the “minority” privledges and scholarships now-a-days. Sure, they started out with good intentions, but like everything else, we take it out of context and push it to the extreme. I believe that if we keep acknowledging the differences between races, and giving some special privledges, the problems will never end. Soon the caucasions will be the minority. I really doubt we will see groups like the ACLU jumping to their defense.
