Bruno

Sacha Baron Cohen’s alter ego Bruno

Sacha Baron Cohen (aka Borat) has secured a salary in excess of $30 million for his next film, in which he will portray Bruno, the gay “voice of Austrian youth TV,” who mercilessly mocks denizens of the U.S. fashion and entertainment industry.

Daily Mail:

Sacha Baron Cohen has become Britain’s highest paid actor after securing himself a salary in excess of 16 million [British pounds] for his next film.

The wage is based on a one-off payment of around 7 million [British pounds] for the rights to his new movie Bruno, plus a hefty ‘back-end’ deal which will see Baron Cohen pocket 15 percent of box office takings.

After watching Borat, I can’t help but feel that some how I’ve been taken. Well, I don’t think the prodcers of this type of what some may think is humer will ever get another dime out of me. At least I hope not. The old addage of “fool me once my fault” fits my feeling about this crap. Boy oh boy did I fall for the okedoke.

Depending on how much it costs to make “Bruno”,and how much it grosses,Cohen has set himself up to be the most coveted comedy actor for the forseeable future. It’s to his advantage to cash in on this huge opportunity now before his characters fade from overexposure.

He’ll probably need the $$$ to pay for the lawsuits he’s already collected from the first movie as well as for this movie.
