It’s been a long time since 911 took place. Hopefully, Americans can stop looking over their shoulders to see who the next “Terrorist” will be. Maybe we should start looking in our government first before looking abroad. Once we bring our national guard and Coast Guard home, maybe then a crisis like Katrina would be resolved more quickly. Just for the record, I have a son in the marines who served two tours and is looking at a possible third.

Remember how Rep John Conyers was send to the ‘House’ BASEMENT by the republican BULLIES, to hold ‘hearings’ on the “Downing Street Memo” [DME] scandal ? He got NOWHERE with it!
Report thisHow ironic, that he is going to be the committee chairman in charge of these kind of investigations and I am sure he is not going to “forget” his humiliating experience in the name of ‘bipartinship’ !
And by the way, whatever happened to the “ABLE DANGER” investigation ?
I am sure, just exposing all the sordid details of these and other numerous scandals indulged in by these crooks and liars ( they will even put Nixon to shame !) will be enough to get the Dems re-elected in ‘08 !!

Doesn’t anyone think that Allen, if he wants, should have the recount? Rule of law, and all that. Why should he do what Kerry did and fold? I understand VA is 100% DRE (touchscreen)—let’s see what happened.
In any event, the Dems (Schumer) trying to bully him into concession is wrong.
Ah, how soon principle melts away. I want a Dem Senate, but I want the rule of law followed more, even if it overturns the initial result. The fact that it most likely won’t isn’t what matters here.
A lot of over-enthusiastic celebration here: the structure of the Bushevik revolution is still in place, sans Rummy (one person, and not a legal structure).
Nowhere on the radar is a repeal of MCA, Patriot Act, impeachment’s off the table, pressure to rein in “gridlock”—the new name for “oversight and investigation into potentially unconstitutional activities”...
I’ll get happy when I see actual policy and laws materially changed. Until then, the people have spoken (if we can trust the voting machines—and amazingly, that trust is directly correlated to whether one’s “team” wins). Will the oligarchy respond in any meaningful way?

Welcome aboard Senator Webb, the flight you will be traveling on will not be easy. Now please remember to keep your office clean as bleach from the K street lobby boys, and your chin in an upright position.
And most important the NEEDED benefits for our “honorable” soldiers: “quality” health care, “paying” jobs, education opportunities!!
And further, remember who placed you in thy office, the people of your state!
Congrads, <clap, clap, clap>

The main question on the Dems minds should be—How storng is the economy???
With control of both houses they are sure to get twice the blame IF the economy falters, and people will be voting with their pocketbooks if the voodoo fizzles.

To all those Dems who were whining about how this election and the rest of our system is corrupt quit it? Sheesh, for heaven’s sake, if you had read the comments on this website too much you might have been inclined to believe we were living in a quasi-totalitarian state. Thank god the Dems won, and quit your whining!

Thank you! Thank you! To all the good people who had had enough. The Republicans have been classic bullies; pushing people around and acting tough without a thought for anyone but them selves. Now that the tables have turned lets hope the Democrats can find the right balance between truth, justice, and civility.

This has been an amazing turn of events. The statement that there is strength in numbers is so true! The Democrats stood together and finally took back the house and senate. I can’t help but think of the words to that old song “For united

Now we’ll see if there’s any mettle in their loins. Don’t for a second lend an ear to the bi-partisan pity plea coming out of the White House. Press for hearings, impeachment, treason; press for the full measure of the law. Press for 911Truth!

Let’s hope there’s not a nightmare scenario of Lieberman defecting to the GOOPers in revenge, giving Ol’ Dick the command of the Senate AND the Presidency. But I have to say naaaaah, that will never happen. My political paranoia has been lifted due to the demonstration that America is still a democracy.
