Times' Top Editor Fired New and Improved CommentsWe are launching a major overhaul of our comments section. In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread. Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts. Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with. As in the last two ‘elections’, voting and election advertizing fraud (see today’s issue of Daily Kos about the illegal use of the Emergency Broadcast System to air a Republican candidate’s political ad in CA) has reached incredibly new heights (orlows)- the questions is, what will the American people do about it? Remain asleep at the wheel - trusting the “Daddy-state” to take care of us -or will we finally take back the reins of government and use it as it was intended - to make the lives of ALL Americans better, not just a handful of elite and their campaign contributors. Sure hope so.
