Did you know Democratic Senate candidate Jim Webb once boxed Oliver North?

CNN:

Along with the battle for control of Congress, the 2006 midterm election also features some odd connections and quirky tidbits of trivia. Check out a few of the lesser-known facts from the Nov. 7 races.

Luckily, The Donald doesn’t vote in Pennsylvania: Fired by Donald Trump in “Apprentice: Season 2,” Raj Peter Bhakta is running as a Republican for Congress against Rep. Allyson Schwartz in Pennsylvania’s 13th District.

Incumbent governors who have appeared on “The Dating Game”: California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm.

Foreign-born governors who can’t become president: Schwarzenegger (born in Austria) and Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm (born in Canada).

Foreign-born governors who become president in a fictional movie after Article II, Section I of the Constitution is amended: Schwarzenegger in the movie “Demolition Man;” (Sandra Bullock’s character explains this fact to Sylvester Stallone’s John Spartan in the film.)

Texas gubernatorial candidate endorsed by both Willie Nelson and Jesse Ventura: Singer and humorist Kinky Friedman (running as Independent).

U.S. Senate candidates who have boxed Oliver North: Jim Webb, a Democrat running in Virginia, boxed North in 1967 when they were both at the Naval Academy. North won in a decision.

Yeah, and if things break as we hope, Webb will beat Allen for the Senate seat that North couldn’t take from Robb 12 years ago!

I would MUCH rather lose a decision in the ring to North and win the Senate seat he couldn’t win--that’s just MY opinion.
