Nov 7th, 2006 [ Judgement day ! ]

I just got back from voting in Pennington Gap at the Lee regional library. When I got there @ 7.30 I found the front door locked and absolutely no sign of any activity inside. But more astonishing and disturbing was the fact that, there was absolutely no sign posted anywhere about what times the polling station will open and close today. I felt as though, I had come to the wrong place!
After waiting around for sometime,I decided to call the local newspaper, the “Powell Valley News” and the lady who answered, had to check with some one there before she told me that, indeed, the place was open for voting since 6am and the enterance was in the back. I drove around to the back and did see a single door and from what I could see from the outside there seem to be no actvity going on inside.
I parked my car and after confiming with a man hanging around in the premises, I went to the back of the library building and went in through the afore mentioned single door, into a dimly lit hallway and saw the voting room on the right side. I found four middle aged ladies at a desk in the center of the room and right away told them of my odd experience of not finding a single sign displayed anywhere, directing voters to the right place; in fact I also told them that I saw a few folks, finding the front door locked, just drove off !
One of the ladies then responded by saying,” May be one of us should stand out there and start waving a sign?!” I didnot find it funny. She then looked at my voter ID and mumbled ?“59” to the lady at the far right who checked off something in a book. They made a feeble effort to look at my ID ( more as an after thaught !) Ofcourse when I asked for a paper receipt after I voted on the touch screen machine, they didnot have one.
If there was to be ‘oversight’  by the two major parties, I found none; And so, where is the definite proof that I even voted or not ?
The whole experience left me wondering,if this election is ever going to be fair and legitimate ??
Please look into this ASAP !!!!!!!!!
