Military Chart: Iraq Moving Toward ‘Chaos’

From the N.Y. Times

The N.Y. Times has surfaced a classified U.S. military briefing that concludes, in chart form, that Iraq is veering toward “chaos.”

  • This is yet more proof that Bush & Co.‘s public statements about Iraq are at odds with the conclusions of our own military. Some people call that lying.

  • New York Times:

WASHINGTON, Oct. 30—A classified briefing prepared two weeks ago by the United States Central Command portrays Iraq as edging toward chaos, in a chart that the military is using as a barometer of civil conflict.

A one-page slide shown at the Oct. 18 briefing provides a rare glimpse into how the military command that oversees the war is trying to track its trajectory, particularly in terms of sectarian fighting.

The slide includes a color-coded bar chart that is used to illustrate an “Index of Civil Conflict.” It shows a sharp escalation in sectarian violence since the bombing of a Shiite shrine in Samarra in February, and tracks a further worsening this month despite a concerted American push to tamp down the violence in Baghdad.

RE: “A classified briefing prepared two weeks ago by the United States Central Command…” which we now see in the NY Times. Why?

Obviously, the generals have leaked this, fed up at being used as a private army for Big Oil. It’s their charges being fed to the meat grinder, not the progeny of the oligarchy, and they see where it’s headed: Iran and beyond. Bush/Co. in its strategy of tension toward total chaos has lost the hearts and minds of the military and the less-than-Strange-Love faction of the oligarchy have turned on them as well.

The limited hangouts are coming on stronger and faster and we can hope they manage to trip up the madmen, as the citizenry, of which now less than 20% still believe the 9/11 myth, are virtually powerless to stop them. We maybe could do something if we took to the streets, but we’re all too fat and lazy, or simply scared witless by their War of Terror.

The gravest danger lies in their pulling a false flag stunt just as their support achieves total free-fall collapse. It will be a constitutional crisis, but it must be achieved before they go totally insane.

Support 9/11Truth. Only the proof of their treason at it’s core is strong enough to shatter their hard-core base of support.

Ironic… nowhere on this “peace/chaos status” slide is there any mention of “foreign terrorism” or “terrorists” or “Al Quada.”

The only time George Bush didn’t lie was when he took the oath of office. He truthfully said his name - everything after that has been a lie.

Why should anyone be surprised that this administration has lied once again, when they lied from the begining to get the US into this mess in Iraq.  There’s probably so much more that Mr. Bush and his flunkies have either lied about or continues to keep secret from the American public.

War or peace is the most important issue facing a government leader. President Bush lied to get U.S. backing to invade Iraq and is lying to Americans so the U.S. will stay the course and remain fighting in Iraq. The U.S. occupation of Iraq is inflaming sectarian resistance and American forces are sitting ducks in the Iraqi civil war crossfire. President Bush has now flip flopped on the war and says he no longer wants to “stay the course.” President Bush has completely lost face on the crucial question of war or peace. Time to change this disastrous policy, vote Democratic.
