U.N. experts have found over 100,000 unexploded cluster bomblets throughout Lebanon. The cluster bombs, most of which were dropped in the last 72 hours of the conflict, continue to injure and kill Lebanese civilians. (Also: What is a cluster bomb? )

BBC:
UN denounces Israel cluster bombs
The UN’s humanitarian chief has accused Israel of “completely immoral” use of cluster bombs in Lebanon.

UN clearance experts had so far found 100,000 unexploded cluster bomblets at 359 separate sites, Jan Egeland said.

Israel has repeated its previous insistence that munitions it uses in conflict comply with international law.

The US/Israeli use of cluster bombs was a war crime. I hope to see the day when the people of the World wrest power from the plutocracy and are able to prosecute crimes like this one.

For some good info on the subject of cluster bombs, see the following:

Unexploded mines in Southern Lebanon and now these cluster bomblets. What’s going on here?  Israel’s behaving like the USA did in Vietnam, where almost every day a farm worker has a leg blown off by land mines that the US military left behind three decades ago.
Of course Israel’s not going to apologize.  Did its mentor, the USA, apologize to the Vietnamese?  Come to think of it did the US government ever apologize to native Americans for its genocide of them?

here’s why ya don’t want nuclear waste: my brother and cousin, born in salt lake city around the time of local nuke testing ( 11/54; 2/55 )were born thusly-my cousin had teeth in his NOSE, and my brother had random bones where feet are supposed to be. In the case of bro, he was in the hospital for long stretches until 4th grade, having those bones composed into the SIZE 5 feet he has now.
Yes, nuke waste creates havoc. And yes, the US has “ nuked “ its own people.

Please also note that Israel dropped the great majority of these cluster bombs in the final 72 hours before the cease-fire took effect and after it was agreed to.

In other words, the Israeli thinking was: “Oh, NO — a cease-fire’s been agreed to!

“We’d better make sure to kill as many people as we can, and leave the country as uninhabitable as possible, before we run out of time! Let’s see, how can we do that?…

“Ah yes, cluster bombs, lots and lots of cluster bombs!....”

Hmmm, Hondo must be some new breed of sheep, or maybe it is the same old sheep with a new name? Simple? Why is it defense when it is Israel and attack when it is not? The facts are easy to see, and so, obviously, easy to SPIN. It slays me every time anyone speaks out against what Israel has done, that person is branded Anti-Semitic. Priceless.
Better yet? Anytime anyone points out the FACTS, these right-wing slugs come creeping out from under their wet places and call the those handing out DOCUMENTED FACTS, (in other words, facts that can be backed up with reliable resources, Non-partisan even) Lacking in Wisdom, Morally Confused, or in some cases, stupid-doo-doo-heads.
Are you one of those people who instantly puff up with anger and righteous indignation every time some new fact about a yet another blunder by the Bush Regime, or any thing that the same idiot and his cabinet of meat puppets support, is posted or reported on? Have you ever wondered why? Can you think with out the SPIN engine?

It never ceases to amaze me how hard it is for liberals to differentiate between good and evil. Something about the disease of liberalism must completely wipe out any trace of wisdom a person ever had. It’s so very simple, folks. Israel was attacked without provocation by murderous Islamofacist animals. Israel vigorously defended herself. Liberals wet all over themselves in despair over the casualties incurred by those poor, victimized murderous Islamofacist animals. Good grief, liberal scarecrows, ask the wizard for a brain!

The U.S. does not care what the U.N. does except when it serves its purpose. The Israel is a terrorist regime with full political, economic, and military support of the U.S. The terrorist state of Israel destroys a nation, leaving over a million people homeless, killing and injuring thousands of innocent people. The U.S. vetos every U.N. resolution condemning horrific acts of Israel. And, then the leadership wonders why more and more people have a very low opinion of the U.S. as a civilized society.

How much longer are we going to allow our hard earned tax dollars to go to these odious, uncaring Zionists bullies.

Enough they either learn to live and behave civilly with their neighbors or have all land expropriated taken away.

These cluster bombs leave small, lethal, toy-like bomblets scattered everywhere, killing and maiming curious toddlers or farmers who don’t notice them hidden in the fields.

But this is par for the Israeli course, of course.

Few Americans realize that Israel’s leftover mines from its previous invasions have continued to kill random Lebanese citizens ever since Israel “withdrew” from Lebanon.

Israel refused to help de-mine the country or to provide the Lebanese with maps showing the mine locations; refused to give back the stolen Shebaa farms area; and refused to release or provide due process for any of the thousands of randomly kidnapped Lebanese being held and tortured in Israel’s jails for decades.

So Hezbollah “kidnapped” two of Israel’s soldiers in hopes of bargaining on some of these issues.

And then the Israelis destroyed Lebanon in a spectacular orgy of cruelty and spite, just because they knew they could get away with it.

Israel has degenerated into a truly swinish, aggressively expansionist ethnocracy that deserves not one shred of continued American support.

There is no ethical or practical reason WHATSOEVER for the United States of America to continue to embrace this pariah state.
