Katherine Harris: Separation of Church and State ‘a Lie’Posted on Aug 24, 2006
Katherine Harris, villain of the 2004 Florida recount saga and a congresswoman running for U.S. Senate, recently dismissed to an interviewer the idea that religion should stay out of politics, saying, “God is the one who chooses our rulers.” So was it God or was it Katherine Harris who fraudulently threw all those eligible black citizens off the voting rolls in 2004? Hey, if she wants to run with the “omnipotent God” logic, she can’t have it both ways....

In Article VI, section 3, of our Constitution which Ms. Harris swore to uphold, the framers spelled out the opposite of what she claims as truth. “...no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”
Report thisSo she broke her oath by advocating only Christians be elected. She involved herself in a conspiracy to violate tax laws by telling her audience how to use their 501(c)(3) tax exempt church status to illegally campaign for political candidates, based on their religious views.
Such entanglements harm both church and state all through history. Our founders knew their history and tried to avoid repeating mistakes and failures.
Jesus said pray in private, He berated “publicans” like Ms. Harris as hypocrites. He said “...render unto Caesar” etc. to recommend separating church and state.
So is she stupid or just a liar?

If her comments were specifically directed toward a Christian group, because she was speaking to a Christian group, then what would she say if she were speaking to a Jewish group, or Muslim group? Does Ms. Harris only make comments to please the groups that she is speaking to?
Report thisMs. Harris must also be delusional if she thinks that God chooses our leaders. The last time I heard, the people voted to choose its elected officials. This might not be true in the case of presidential elections, were Ms. Harris got to decide the winner of Florida. But then again perhaps Ms. Harris thinks that she is God.
Its also really said that she claims the founding fathers and God never intended for America to have secular laws. Im sure that Ms. Harris was present at the initial meetings between the founding fathers and God, about how this nations law should be created, and what kinds of people are fit to govern.
I guess I always felt that America was a country of religious freedom, a Country where people were not forced to obey a government driven by religious zealotry.

I know it’s hard to believe it has been so long, but… Don’t you mean the *2000* election?
Maybe she did the same thing in ‘04, but might well reference the 2000 dawn of this tribulation.

I don’t understand why such confused, addle-minded, likely mentally ill loudmouths get “press” in the first place. Anyone with even a room-temperature IQ can readily detect Harris isn’t playing with a full deck.
America, do you REALLY enjoy being the laughing stock of the world by electing people who not only believe an imaginary God exists, but that he/she/it actually gives a damn who wins a political leadership race?
If you do you’re as mentally unbalanced as she is.

Maybe her “God” did choose Fascists to be our rulers.
I think my God has different plans for them.

She, like most other GOP members, is a scam artist. They get elected largely because of the corporate media.
