Reuters:

The U.S. intelligence community is ill-prepared to assess Iran’s nuclear weapons capabilities and its intentions for developing weapons of mass destruction, a congressional report said on Wednesday.

New and Improved Comments

We are launching a major overhaul of our comments section.

In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread.

Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts.

Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with.

Please direct any problems or concerns to us via our contact page.

Bombs away!

The Rabid Right is in love with the notion that they can bomb all their enemies back to the stone age, but they ignore the fact that their enemies retaliate with guerilla war which can only be won with foot soldiers. They didn’t learn that lesson from Viet Nam, Afghanistan, or Iraq, but nevertheless, they are absolutely convinced it will work with Iran and Syria.

The business of the Military Industrial Complex is war. Whether they win, lose or draw the billions in profits keep rolling in. If that’s their criteria for success, they’re obviously big winners. Never mind the consequences for our country.
