Bush Supports Over-the-Counter Plan B Sales

The president said he favors the FDA’s plan to OK sales of the so-called morning-after pill without a prescription—but not for minors.
We’ll give Bush a golf clap for supporting Plan B at all. But behind his no-minors policy is an unfounded fear that emergency contraceptives encourage promiscuity. Don’t bother the man with facts; his mind is made up.

UPI:

U.S. President George Bush indicated he supports over-the-counter sales of Plan B, a so-called morning-after contraceptive—except for minors.

Bush told a news conference at the temporary press room across from the White House he supports plans by Acting Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Andrew von Eschenbach to OK sales of Plan B without a prescription.

“I believe Plan B ought to be a required prescription for minors,” Bush said, adding he supports “Andy’s decision.”

Von Eschenbach testified at a U.S. Senate committee hearing last week he thinks Plan B can be sold safely to women over 18.

It’s a bloody wonder GWB didn’t restrict sale of Plan B to women over the age of 50!

It doesn’t matter anyway. People today get whatever “drug” they want whether the government “approves” or not. Plan B will be available where the young can find it easily.

“I believe Plan B ought to be a required prescription for minors...” Sounds like all minor females should take this drug if they have sex.
That Hipocritical Stooge!

The pharmiceutical companies will see a 12% increase in STIs as well as an increase in trauma induced mental disorders on younng spiitualy aware: More drugs to treat that.

Parents will buy these for their kids anyway.
