I’m no fan of Madonna’s music or exhibitionistic tendencies, but the lady does have a head on her shoulders and plenty of courage as well. My applause to her. I hope she pays her bodyguards well because I wouldn’t trust the “Vatican” hitmen as far as I could throw them. I believe the RC Church knows very well how to make problem people “disappear.”
She and Sinead O’Connor have both taken swipes at this most preposterous collection of pretentious, pompous hypocrits. It seems to me that the loudness of Vatican complaints is a barometer of how close to the truth these women have come.
It’s hard to criticize an entire organization as large and ubiquitous as the RC Church especially when there are times and places where they actually DO GOOD USEFUL WORK. I’ve read of work that some priests and nuns have done and have great respect for their accomplishments… the few who somehow either stick it to Rome’s nonsense, or ignore it, and get away with it.
Unfortunately, in my view, the vast majority of RC priests and nuns are out there simply to spout the party line and condition as many “sheep” as possible for fleecing by the church.

We’ve got the R.C. church that doesn’t have the backgone to clean up its act vs. a celebrity who could care less about morality and thinks that she’s actually Important.
I choose neither.
