William Kristol 'caked'
From devrije.nl

In the photo to the right, arch neoconservative William Kristol takes a pie in the face while delivering a pro-Iraq war speech in 2005. Bestselling author Glenn Greenwald describes (Salon, ad wall) how pundits like Kristol are on the run everywhere—after their bloodthirsty, imperialist policies have proved disastrous for America and global stability.

Glenn Greenwald at Salon.com:

... According to the president, American security is threatened when anti-U.S. resentment grows in the Middle East and the region is awash in violence. Our goal, then, is to bring about a new Middle East where the U.S. is viewed as a force for good and peace and freedom can take hold. That is the essence of the neoconservative worldview.

Measured by that standard, how are things going for the U.S. in the “new Middle East”? As the Independent reports, this is what was happening this weekend across that region:

“Mass protests have erupted across much of the Muslim world against the war in Lebanon, prompting louder and more desperate calls for a ceasefire from governments fearful of a popular backlash.

... Amazingly, the neoconservatives’ response to the patent failure of their warmongering approach is to urge more of the same, just with more intensity and with less restraint. When the violence they urge produces results that are the opposite of what they claim they want to achieve, their solution is never to reconsider the approach but, instead, to urge more violence and more wars.

<<Why is it OK to violently prevent someone from peacefully exercising their freedom of speech?>>

We’re all sick of being blasted with one-sided pro-Israel “news” and “analysis” by the Israel industry that owns our government and media.

These bullies never shut up. They effectively, forcibly define reality for us. They shut up anybody who crosses them. Their money and threats outshout anybody who tries to change our government’s insanely self-destructive support of Israel. They’re attacking the freedom of even Harvard professors to question them.

They have all the money, all the airtime, all the major media, all the clout.

All we have is pies.

They deserve far worse. F*** them.

Bukko makes an excellent point. Does it surprise you I said that? Why in the world do all of you, besides Bukko, think it’s OK to criminally assault somebody who you disagree with? Why is it OK to violently prevent someone from peacefully exercising their freedom of speech? You won’t find conservatives doing that. Liberals should be ashamed!

It’s a nice photo — mainly because it looks like his head is being blown off.

Hey, we can dream, can’t we?

The neocons, also known as american talibans, do not serve in the army. They prefer their cozy air-conditioned offices for playing war games since all the fighting is going to be done by some lower class folks who are very much expendable. If things dont go right, they would want to expand the war games. If millions of people are dead, so what..they still have their golf courses and the good life.

It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

Then again, it was a terrible waste of a good pie.

Pieman: How would it seem to you if some right-winger whanged a pie into the face of Robert Scheer or some other leftist? Threatening and fascistic, I’d say. Much as I dislike Kristol, and other targets of left-wing pies, physical assault isn’t the way to go. Plus it’s a waste of a damn pie!

Down here, “pie” means the meaty kind…

Ater he wiped his face he said “Let me just finish this point.” And received standing applause from both sides.

I don’t like Coulter or Kristol but I think throwing pies at them comes off as really cheesy. Now, if a person can dismantle them in a war of words, that is a different story. Colbert’s dismantling of the President at the White House Press Corp dinner was much more classy and entertaining than any “pie in the face”.

If I was going to make and deliver a “pie” like that, I’d make damned sure it contained a PERMANENT, INDELIBLE DYE, marking it’s wearer forever as one of those narrow-minded, mean-spirited hypocrits we should all despise… but don’t.

Why don’t we all shun these obnoxious pricks? Because somewhere around half of us BELONG to that group.

What a great photo! Is there any better form of dissent than the ol’ pie in the face? I think not.
