Killing As Many As Possible Before the Cease-Fire

The brutal logic of Israel and Hezbollah goes like this: Inflict as many deaths on the enemy as possible in the next few days—in order to strengthen your hand before sitting down at the bargaining table.

AP:

Israeli warplanes repeatedly bombed Beirut’s southern suburbs and Lebanon’s southern and eastern regions on Monday, killing at least 15 people hours before Arab League foreign ministers were to meet for a hastily convened session.

Both sides appeared to take advantage of the days before a cease-fire resolution, formulated by the U.S. and France, is put to a vote in the U.N. Security Council. Hezbollah rocket launched its deadliest rocket barrage on Israel on Sunday, killing 12 Israeli soldiers and three civilians.

Israeli warplanes began carrying out a series of air raids on southern Lebanon early Monday.

Picking up on Scheer’s article about Israel’s dependency on the drug of militarism, the drug of militarism is one of those mind-altering ones that renders its users senseless. That aside, Mr. Bush was just quoted as saying that the Israel/Lebanon tragedy is an “unfortunate incident”.  Wonder what he’s sniffing.

Are we really so naive as to think Hez is the one who is being harmed?  Or is this just one more indication of the anti-semitism of the Left?

There is no parity between killings by Israel and Hezbullah. First, the ratio of lebanese killed and fatalities in Israel is more than 10 to 1, nit to mention more than a million lebanese homeless. Second, the country of lebanon has been practicallt destroyed once again by Israel. Hezbullah dont have military might needed to bomb Israel towns and cities like the Israel is doing. The U.N.resolution is on Israeli terms. To suggest any kind of military equivalence is ludicrous.

I’m with Spinoza re “truth“‘s uppercase pile of imaginary invective in #17080.

I don’t believe for a second that Begin either stated, was quoted or wrote that insanity… and I’m neither a Jew nor an Arab.

However, I can imagine Pat Robertson muttering that crap under his breath… but even he is not stupid enough to say it “on the record"… and that’s saying something!

Judge them by their actions.

Isaelis have gone mad.  Perhaps this was inevitable, given the little mad, hothouse of unreality called Israel, the self emposed Jewish ghetto that they have created and in which they live and suffocate.

They need reality, just like a dying man in the desert needs water.

I say the best way to give them reality is to cut off all aid to them.  Let them experinece gravity, just like the rest of us do.

Take away the US shield and let them face the scorn of humanity without US protection.  Let’s see if they have any shame?

Funny...we kill people who kill people to show everyone that...killing is wrong?  It would seem the universe...is not without a sense of irony.

“OUR RACE IS THE MASTER RACE.  WE ARE DIVINE GODS ON THIS PLANET.  WE ARE AS DIFFERENT FROM THE INFERIOR RACES AS THEY ARE FROM INSECTS.  IN FACT, COMPARED TO OUR RACE, OTHER RACES ARE BEASTS AND ANIMALS, CATTLE AT BEST.  OTHER RACES ARE CONSIDERED AS HUMAN EXCREMENT.  OUR DESTINY IS TO RULE OVER THE INFERIOR RACES.  OUR EARTHLY KINGDOM WILL BE RULED BY OUR LEADER WITH A ROD OF IRON.  THE MASSES WILL LICK OUR FEET, AND SERVE US AS OUR SLAVES.”

Now, who said it?
Was it Hitler?
Was it Stalin?
