FDA to Consider Over-Counter Sale of Morning-After Pill

The government agency will weigh whether to let the drug (Plan B) be sold over the counter—a move that conservative forces, inside the government and out, have long objected to as part of their proxy battle on abortion.
This may be happening only because two senators have been blocking the appointment of the FDA’s new head until the agency makes a decision on the drug.

N.Y. Times:

The Food and Drug Administration said today it is considering approval of the morning-after pill for sale without a prescription, a surprise move on an issue that has ensnared the agency in debate for years.

Discussions between the government and Barr Laboratories, which manufactures the drug, known as Plan B, are set to begin immediately and could be completed “in a matter of weeks,” the agency said in a statement.

The move could end a standoff between the Bush administration and Democrats on Capitol Hill.

I must have been elsewhere when the decision was made by some “authority,” on my behalf, to assign the power to bureaucrats and government agencies to decide FOR THE PEOPLE what we can or cannot see, hear, have or do.

I want to go on the record here and now:

I, as an independent citizen of this planet, am the ONLY authorized “decider” when it comes to what I put into my body, what I do with my body and what I say with my body. As the SOLE OWNER/OPERATOR of this body I have NEVER assigned this power to any other person, organization or government and do not agree to do so now. I will defend my rights as stated with every weapon at my disposal until my death.

Is that clear?

If I wanted the morning after pill I would get it whether or not some purchased pinhead petty bureaucrat said I could or not. Anyone with any guts would too. Anyone without the guts deserves their subservient fate.
