Until GW actually begins to care enough about this horror - until he realizes it’s in HIS own best interests, not just the entire world’s - until after the mid-term election for sure - then Condi will just fritter away at this endless problem.  If the Middle East were to suddenly run out of petroleum - THEN and only then would the U.S. (and the world) finally do something to stop this multi-millenial religious war. There are many technologies available to replace petroleum, but with the Oil Barons in charge, that’s highly unlikely in the near future.  Too bad we can’t toss the bums out. How could it be any worse?  I’ve been ready for something better for a while now, and I think most Americans would agree with me. Can’t wait.  But the Barons also own the electronic voting machines too......Sigh!  Any suggestions?

we’re screwed

By continueing its war campaign on Lebanon, Israel is burning down all the bridges for a peacefull settlement. The U.S. and Israel must stop calling freedom fighters “terrorists”. Hezbollah is a Lebanese party with members of parliament, and seek freeing their part of the country, Southern Lebanon, from Israeli occupation, and seek the freedom of their political prisoners in Israeli prisons. The U.S. and Israel should seek the paths of peace through negotiations and not by destroying another countries infrastructure and killing innocent civilians, many of whom are helpless children and women.
