GOP Sen. Compares Global Warming Believers to Nazis

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), who chairs the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said he is reminded of the Third Reich when he observes the tactics of people like Al Gore in their attempts to raise awareness about global warming.

Think Progress:

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) is the nation’s most prominent global warming denier. He famously declared that global warming is “the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.” Now, he’s taken the argument a step further. In an interview with Tulsa World, Inhofe compared people who believed global warming was a problem to Nazis:

In an interview, he heaped criticism on what he saw as the strategy used by those on the other side of the debate and offered a historical comparison.

“It kind of reminds . . . I could use the Third Reich, the big lie,” Inhofe said.

Comparing supporters of the global warming theory to the third reich and nazi’ism is a cheap shot designed to encourage mis-beliefs and perpetuate apathy towards the real issue of pollution and habitat destruction.

Why is it that everytime the Global Warming fanatics start talking they ALWAYS mention the “need” for more Government controls and taxes with intentions of controlling our “bad” habits?

You know, once America was an industrial powerhouse. The auto companies made cars that people actually wanted without ANY government regulations, and they turned a profit. The steel companies as well as all the other companies did fine before the age of environmental and “safety” regulation.

Now, all of these industries are dying due to the blood-sucking motherfuckers that include government regulators and their environmentalist high priests. We have lost 60% of our manufacturing since this started back in the mid 1960’s. Soon, there won’t be a single manufacturer left in this country.

I have no doubt that these evil totalitarians will win at telling the big lie known as global warming. They’ve been successful everytime over the last 40 years. Now, their holy grail includes proposed regulations that will hamper if not destroy electrical power generation and distribution. But in their efforts to to this, they will soon have an utterly bankrupt country that is about to see a financial crisis that will lead to no less than an imperial collapse.

The question is not the fact of warming.
Ask any geologist.
We’re still exiting the Little Ice Age.
It’s the question of *cause*.
And a question of the politics of the anti-Capitalists.

Oh…one other thing…none other than Sen Inhofe was the senator who introduced and sponsored the “Clean Skies Act” of 2005.

Maybe we should listen to him.  He’s written the book on The Big Lie.

Felicity -

Inhofe’s grandchildren will be too busy fighting “terrorism” in Iraq 20 years from now, owing to the repeated bald-faced lies that have been told by his neo-con White House buddies to notice that they destroyed the environment by following other Bush/Republican lies, like “Clear Skies Initiative” (allowing coal plants to pump more mercury and greenhouse gases into the air) and the “Healthy Forests” bill (allowing even more clearcutting of huge tracts of forests), or perhaps they will by then be so impoverished by Republicans’ “compassionate conservatism” (i.e., make fabulously wealthy people even more filthy wealthy and screw everybody else) that they just won’t give a shit.  After all, if you’re dirt poor with no future what difference does it make whether there’s a three month drought in Florida?  You can’t afford the food they used to grow there anyway.

This country needs a serious revolution before these fascist bastards turn us into Nazi Germany redux.

Rationality is no match for ideology, much as I would like to believe otherwise.  I have come to side with Antionio Gramsci’s theory that ideological domination is implemented through control of the mass media.  I discussed this in one of my own blog entries, to which the URL I provided points.

Inhofe, you really need to get out of Oklahoma. Global warming is not just happening to America thus the great hoax, as you put it, is not being foisted on America alone, it’s being foisted on the entire human race. Your ignorance and arrogance may not kill you but it will kill your grandchildren.
