National Journal: Bush ‘Directed’ Cheney to Discredit Joe WilsonPosted on Jul 3, 2006
The president told federal investigators that he ordered Vice President Cheney to personally lead an effort to counter the allegations made by former Ambassador Joe Wilson that the White House had misrepresented intelligence to make the case to go to war with Iraq, according to people familiar with Bush’s statement, as quoted by Murray Waas of the National Journal.

Oh sure, they were thinking ahead when they planned this, and the president officially authorized it and officially declassified the information they would use, correctly and officially ahead of time! No. Bush is just covering up after the fact, to get around whether releasing whatever information they did in the course of smearing Wilson was illegal. Of course he doesn’t run these things himself, so it’s unlikely he “authorized” it. So far as Bush is concerned, Cheney can do whatever he thinks is best, I’m sure. Cheney even said (mistakenly) that he, as Vice President, can declassify anything, any time. Bush doesn’t think about anything his people are up to at all, I think. They just take care of business for him, and he doesn’t care. When someone brings up punyass little issues like the law, or the Constitution, you can bet it’s nobody in the inner circle. This is a working criminal enterprise. They get called on something, they put out a story that takes care of it. Forget about the facts. It’s a silly story they came up with, but it does the trick, legally, I guess.

So Libby decided all by his lonesome to leak Valerie Plame’s CIA employment to reporters as part of an effort to “get out the facts” and “discredit” Joe Wilson per the orders of Bush? Why did Karl Rove decide to do the same thing all by his lonesome? But Bush didn’t know either of them would do that? I thought the “decider” made all the decisions. Surely, leaking the name of a covert CIA employee was not a decision Libby would make on their own considering Libby’s reluctance to leak NIE secrets. Why would he not also be reluctant to leak Valerie Plame’s CIA employment? Clearly outing her was intended to “discredit” Joe Wilson.
Bush says he didn’t know “how” Cheney would “get out the facts” or that he ordered that Valerie Plame’s CIA employment be leaked. Bush only ordered “NIE secrets” leaked to “get out the facts” and “discredit” Joe Wilson. At the very least, Bush ordered NIE secrets leaked for purely POLITICAL purposes. Joe Wilson’s article was not a threat to our nation’s security. Why didn’t Bush just ignore Wilson’s article since it represented no national security threat? Why did Bush believe it was “necessary” to leak matters of national security?
Bush is a man who personally “orders” leaks of national security matters and then condems individuals, news reporters and the newspapers they work for for printing the truth of his lies and illegal and incompetent actions. Bush has repeatedly lied to the nation to hide his lies and the failures of his decisions, plans and actions. Believing Bush is insanity. Saying you believe him when you know he is lying is evil incarnate.

Re: Bush “ordered” the outing of Plame.
I knew that, I knew that.
Bush ordered the outing of Plame, Rove masterminded it and Cheney carried it out.
Outing a CIA agent is treason.
Outing a CIA agent in time of war is High Treason.
Everyone involved in the outing of Plame is guilty of High Treason.
That’s why Fitzpatrick wouldn’t indict Rove. He didn’t want to open that can of worms. He chickened out. Who can blame him?
Me!

So he knew from day one the whole story. He knew when he told the press he wanted to find out who in his administration had leaked.
Report thisEveryone must know now that this Cheney-Bush administration has no credibility whatsoever.
It is a Ferriswheel of spin and lies.
