Department of Defense Funds $450K Blog Research ProjectPosted on Jul 2, 2006The Air Force Office of Scientific Research will fund a three-year research project shepherded by Versatile Information Systems Inc. that will seek out “relevant and credible” information pertaining to terrorist activity on blogs. Hmm. A .mil address runs a story about a program to surveil blogs for terrorist content, basically informing every terrorist out there that not only will we be watching blogs, but will be doing it through link analysis algorithms.
Doesn’t this mean that the Department of Defense just committed treason?
