USA Today Backs Off Phone Records Story

The newspaper originally reported that AT&T, BellSouth and Verizon have been providing phone call data to the NSA. But now USA Today says it can’t confirm that either BellSouth or Verizon provided the data. (AT&T definitely appears to have done so.)


USA Today:

... Based on its reporting after the May 11 article, USA TODAY has now concluded that while the NSA has built a massive domestic calls record database involving the domestic call records of telecommunications companies, the newspaper cannot confirm that BellSouth or Verizon contracted with the NSA to provide bulk calling records to that database.

So given you have an “ear to the ground”, that should put your head in a decent to position to read a paper that hotels leave a free copy of on the floor, in the hallway outside hotel rooms…..................

Its all about perspective I suppose…...........
