Washington Post: Court Ruling a Body Blow to Bush

In an analysis, the Washington Post says “the Supreme Court has struck at the core of his presidency and dismissed the notion that the president alone can determine how to defend the country.”

Washington Post:

For five years, President Bush waged war as he saw fit. If intelligence officers needed to eavesdrop on overseas telephone calls without warrants, he authorized it. If the military wanted to hold terrorism suspects without trial, he let it.

Now the Supreme Court has struck at the core of his presidency and dismissed the notion that the president alone can determine how to defend the country. In rejecting Bush’s military tribunals for terrorism suspects, the high court ruled that even a wartime commander in chief must govern within constitutional confines significantly tighter than this president has believed appropriate.

I just want to know if this president can be impeached for all that he has done, he has lied, given us half truths the dept of homeland security has given us false scares, and the scares will really get fast and furious around Sept, Oct. and Nov. just like the last election a lot of things will come out of the woodwork.  I am just sorry that we did not give a smart guy like John Kerry a change, we must all remember how the swift boat gang really distorted the reality, I can only say one thing Bush never went to war, the National Guard was not designed for combat, and they (N.G.) never trained for serious warfare, because they were there to protect states in times of emergencies like Katrina and flooding elswere.
