Fox Analyst
From ThinkProgress

Judge Andrew Napolitano, a Fox News analyst, was personally invited by the Defense Department to tour the American detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba—after the military had kicked out all other reporters. Wonder why Fox got such nice treatment….

Last week, the Pentagon kicked all reporters out of the Guantanamo Bay prison after the suicides of three detainees. But on Wednesday the Defense Dept. invited a Fox News analyst down to Cuba to tour the facility.
And what do you know? The Fox analyst described Gitmo as ?now gentle, almost child-like the way they treat the detainees.?

Think Progress:

Last week, the Pentagon ?shut down access entirely? to the Guantanamo Bay prison after the suicide deaths of three detainees. Journalists covering the suicides had their clearances revoked and were immediately flown back to the United States, and regular visits between detainees and their lawyers were cancelled. Human rights groups protested:

This press crackdown is the administration?s latest betrayal of fundamental American values. The Bush Administration is afraid of American reporters, afraid of American attorneys and afraid of American laws.

Afraid of American journalists, that is, as long as they?re not from Fox. This morning, Fox News analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano described how the Defense Department had personally invited him on a trip to Guantanamo on Wednesday:

Gitmo is a travesty. There can be no justification, terrorism and terrorists notwithstanding, for “authorities” to abandoned the fundamental precepts upon which America is founded. In my America, EVERYONE is INNOCENT until brought before the courts and proven guilty. There is no “unless” or “except” or “extenuating circumstances.”

The one redeeming factor in all of this is that GWB and Co are far too ignorant and short-sighted to realize that, all down through history, most leaders who ignored the laws, lied to their people and otherwise acted as despots, were eventually BROUGHT TO TRIAL and either EXECUTED or INCARCERATED FOR LIFE.

I only hope I live long enough to watch history repeat itself.

It’s clearly a misstatement to use Fox and reporters in the same sentence. That organization of the Bush Administration, and they are nothing more than repuglican operatives.
