CNN Host Compares Gore to Hitler

Glenn Beck
From MediaMatters

Glenn Beck

“Headline News” host Glenn Beck said Al Gore’s story-telling methods in his global warming movie, “An Inconvenient Truth,” were like those of Hitler. “Hitler said a little bit of truth,” Beck said, “and then he mixed in ‘and it’s the Jews’ fault.’ ”

Media Matters:

On the June 7 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio program, CNN Headline News host Glenn Beck became the latest critic to compare An Inconvenient Truth, a documentary film about former Vice President Al Gore’s campaign to raise awareness of global warming, to the Nazis. Beck dismissed many of the conclusions drawn from the documentary, stating, “[W]hen you take a little bit of truth and then you mix it with untruth, or your theory, that’s where you get people to believe. ... It’s like Hitler. Hitler said a little bit of truth, and then he mixed in ‘and it’s the Jews’ fault.’ That’s where things get a little troublesome, and that’s exactly what’s happening” in An Inconvenient Truth.

As Media Matters for America has previously noted, Sterling Burnett, senior fellow at the National Center for Policy Analysis, called the film “propaganda” and added: “You don’t go see Joseph Goebbels’ films to see the truth about Nazi Germany. You don’t want to go see Al Gore’s film to see the truth about global warming.”

Gore is a Hack and Global Warming is complete bunk. To think we as a race have had as much of an impact on this planet as some claim we have had is pampas. This planet has continually gone through cooling periods. That has been proven. Man didn’t cause, man can’t stop, and man can’t accelerate it. Glen Beck is right on with his comments.

Glenn Beck is a Clear Channel Hannity-Hack.  CNN will rue the day they ever associated themselves with him.

The over/under on CNN blowing out Glenn Beck is November 8th, the Day After the America rises up to smite these right wing hate-mongers.

I saw the film on Friday. It was very impactful and well-researched. And the photos are heartbreaking. I almost broke into tears watching it when I had a deep awareness of the Earth as a breathing organism. We’ve all heard that the rainforests are the lungs of the planet. I think for the first time, I could imagine the Earth really breathing.

It takes a lot to wake some people up. Mr. Beck obviously doesn’t have the awareness that millions of others do who are living more green and eco-lifestyles. We all wake up one way or the other. And so will he. I’m just glad I’m doing it by choice and not by catastrophe.

Just saw the film.  Excellent.  And the science was overwhelming in its implication.

Nonetheless, I just read one of the lead stories in the Sunday NYT (6-11-2006) about China and its insatiable need for more COAL.  Even if the US stopped its production of energy right this second and continued to cease production, China and India would totally negate any decrease the US caused.

Since there is no political or economic will to do anything about C02, its inevitable that the human race will have to handle the devastating consequences.

Unfortunately, I’m not old.  I don’t want to live thru the sea change (literally!), but have a sinking feeling that I’m going to live to see a very large chunk of ice fall off Antartica.  When that happens, everyone in the world will be affected.  Tens of millions.  The fallout of mass migrations will eventually affect every living human.

I find it humorous how right wingers will totally deny facts (about WMDs, about how much an idiot Bush is, about global warming, etc.).  They will probably not find it humorous when the consequences affect them, too.

I’d be willing to bet he prefers GW’s outright lies to any semblance of the truth.

Where do the networks get these peculiar idealogues?  No historical perspective, no logic, much sophistry.

Wonder why Beck would compare an individual like Mr. Gore to Hitler? One would think that a person who personifies the German leader (Beck)would not compare apples with oranges.  Hmmmm....

I’ve thought a lot about guys like these who know nothing and make a lot of stupid noice.

He must be related to a distant neighbor of ours
who blames the problems of the environment to our visits to the moon. She claims that tampering with the moon has brought us to where we are today.

His claims are in that same vein.

The scientific evidence to date indicates that our species is endangered by global warming, but we can’t waste any more time arguing with those who have a vested interest in denying that this is so.  This means that we’ve got to take the offensive instead of just reacting to the lies and smokescreens put out by the powers that be.  One possibility is a mass action suit on behalf of our children and grandchildren, in which we the people demand that our government immediately begin to combat global warming.  We need to present the facts to our children, too, so that they themselves can take the initiative.  After all, it’s their lives that are on the line, since, what they have to look forward to is competing with one another for real estate at the North and South Poles because, as things now stand, by the end of this century those will be the only habitable places left on earth.  What a legacy for us to leave them!

After much thought, I have come to the conclusion that this country is being governed by Charlie Manso and his evil minions...or at least the evil twins. Charlie Manson “ruled” by lies, manipulation, fear and head games, too.

And we wonder why the corporate media is less trusted today?  Wingnuts used to be relegated to low-wattage radio in the sticks.  Now they are given all the spit and polish of prime time.
