Iran has rejected an offer by America and five other world powers to extend a series of rewards in exchange for Iran’s abandonment of its nuclear program.

CNN:

Iran won’t abandon its nuclear ambitions under Western pressure, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Friday.

“Certain parties that have stockpiles full of nuclear arms want to deprive us of our absolute rights,” Ahmadinejad said at the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Tehran, according to a report by the official Islamic Republic News Agency.

“Pressures to make us give up our rights will be (in) vain,” he said. (Watch as Iran’s president refuses to back down—2:03)

Rice, the queen of double-speak has made Iran an offer it has to refuse, has a right to refuse according to the NPT.  It will go something like, we (US) negotiated in good faith and Iran was not willing to meet us half way. It’s a set-up everybody.

The US is in possession of thousands upon thousands of nuclear weapons of all sorts. How does that look to the rest of the world? We have no right to demand of others what we refuse to demand of ourselves. Perhaps we should begin to dismantle ourselves of our own arsenal.
