On the eve of the premiere of the underling-dishes-all movie “The Devil Wears Prada,” the N.Y. Time surveys the landscape of interns whose work-related blogs have brought them both pay and pink slips.

How does an “intern” get a pink slip? The nature of being an intern is that you are not being paid so how does one really get fired from a job they are not being paid for? Living in Hollywood I see many job postings for someone to work 10-12 hour days for very little or no compensation except the “privilege” of working for these “important” people. Perhaps if all these high profile companies stopped relying on so much free labor they would find less “employees” with the time to write blogs about the inner workings of their company.
