Missouri Town May Evict Unwed Couples With Kids

Current law in Black Jack, Mo., prohibits more than three people from living together unless they are related by “blood, marriage or adoption.” The City Council rejected amending that law to include unmarried couples with children.
We’re speechless.

AP:

BLACK JACK, Missouri - The city council has rejected a measure allowing unmarried couples with multiple children to live together, and the mayor said those who fall into that category could soon face eviction.

Olivia Shelltrack and Fondrey Loving were denied an occupancy permit after moving into a home in this St. Louis suburb because they have three children and are not married.

The town’s planning and zoning commission proposed a change in the law, but the measure was rejected Tuesday by the city council in a 5-3 vote.

And the “flyover states” often wonder why the rest of the country can’t take them seriously on social issues (of which this isn’t even close).  What’s next for you proud Missourans?  No inter-racial couples?  It makes me wonder how many of the couples in Black Jack are really related by blood or marriage, as in “married cousins”?

And make no mistake, you citizens of Black Jack, MO - if these people are cast out of town, you will ALL be responsible.  Shame on you.

With the national debt beyond the point of no return, health care becoming a privelege rather than a right, US policies creating terrorists exponentially, war with Iran almost a foregone conclusion, the people of Black Jack, Mo. are tackling the monumental problem of housing unmarried couples with children. When people’s safety and security are threatened and they are helpless to do anything about it, they invariably turn their attention to something they can solve. Strangely, the object of their attention very often has sex at its core.

How fortunate we are not to be a member of this community.  How horrible it must be to live surrounded by people who would see their neighbors thrown onto the street.  People such as this would have watched as the Nazis rounded up the Jews and marched them to the death chamber.  This sort of law is just the first step…after that it is easy.
