Answering His First Question, Tony Snow Misleads Press

Tony Snow
From ThinkProgress

New White House Press Secretary Tony Snow misleads the press corps right out of the gate.

Amazing. (Or maybe not.) The new White House press secretary (a former Fox News host) kicked off his tenure with a misleading statement about Bush and the NSA program.

Think Progress:

New White House Press Secretary Tony Snow is already covering up President Bush’s mistakes.

President Bush was asked earlier today about an NSA database reported by USA Today that tracks the phone records of “tens of millions” of Americans. Bush implicitly confirmed the existance of the program, claiming that Congress had been fully briefed on it:

QUESTION: Mr. President, you’ve said that the government is not trolling through the lives of innocent Americans, but why shouldn’t ordinary people feel that their privacy is invaded by the NSA compiling a list of their telephone calls?...

No surprises here! Except, perhaps, why Bush didn’t select O’Reilly instead of Snow.  It is clear as to why Snow was selected from the Fox clan. Fox leans to the right so much it almost topples over at times, despite that constant drum beat of “fair and balanced.” Even a novice can see that after only 8 hours of viewing. But, then, I guess only Fox folks can support lies, illegal actions, misrepresentations, etc., and do it with a straight face!

Tony Snow - Bush’s press secretary is only defending anything that George W Bush lies about.
Snow used to work at Fox News - and Fox News is owned and controlled by “the Jewish coalition” the “American Israel public Affairs Committee.”
The War in Iraq is in defense of Israel’s best interests - therefore, we are not going to hear any truthful version of anything that Snow or Bush have said (or) are going to say - about anything - especially the War in Iraq!

Quite similar to the situation when the White House and Pentagon were denying there was an extreme rendition program at the same time that Condi Rice was in Germany apologizing for kidnapping the wrong man in just that program. This was openly announced by the German government and widely reported in Europe. When asked about this inconvenient fact, the Bushies just lied again and said it did not happen. Oh, okay, said the lapdogs of the Washington Press Corps. And understand, this is not new. The reason Woodward and Bernstein broke Watergate is that they had nothing to lose. They had no top level access to be taken away. Freedoms just another word for nothing left to lose.
