Only 29% think the president is doing an “excellent or pretty good job,” according to a new Harris Interactive poll.

Wall Street Journal Online:

President Bush’s approval rating has fallen to its lowest mark of his presidency, according to a new Harris Interactive poll.

Of 1,003 U.S. adults surveyed in a telephone poll, 29% think Mr. Bush is doing an “excellent or pretty good” job as president, down from 35% in April and significantly lower than 43% in January. It compares with 71% of Americans who said Mr. Bush is doing an “only fair or poor” job, up from 63% in April.

Meanwhile, approval ratings for Congress are also sliding, as 18% of Americans say Congress is doing an “excellent or pretty good job,” compared with 80% who say Congress is doing an “only fair or poor” job. In February, 25% of Americans gave Congress a positive rating and 71% gave a negative rating.

A quick review of President Bush’s achievements:

An illegal invasion of two sovreign countries (Iraq and Afghanistan)

The illegal abduction of foreign nationals from foreign soil

State-sponsered torture of those same nationals

The incarceration of unnamed ‘suspected terrorists’ for an unlimited time, without access to legal representation

The operation of secret prisons

The bombing of civilians with phosphorous bombs

The illegal domestic spying issue

and so on, and so on.

Remind me again why President Nixon was impeached.

Bush’s rating will surely fall below ZERO if he kept rolling himself on this actual path.

What I don’t understand about the polls is the questions and how they are phrased..  I mean how can anyone in their right mind (29%) say that Bush is doing a pretty good job, or even worse and exellent job…?  If you ask me that’s huge, I mean it’s really great news for the President…  If I heard that, say 3% of those polled replied that the President is doing a pretty good job, I would think that the President should be very happy with that number.  I think that the President should be happy that he hasn’t gotten a spanking from his father.  If he was my son I’d give him a good spanking…  I mean, I would really tan his ass…

Given what we have known for some time, isn’t it time our elected officials took action? Does no one up there see what’s happening? Has everyone sold out?

71% think Bush is doing a fair to poor job? How many for lousy, abominable, ghastly?
