Every time I think I’ve heard it all - more shit like this happens. If the warrantless wiretaps prove to be unconstitutional (therefore, illegal) - will these telecommunication companies be indicted as accomplices? Fat chance, I know, but it’s an interesting thought. I never knew that my Verizon bill included spying on me and my neighbors. I live in a very rural area near the border, where I have no choice but Verizon. And since I’m one of the few non-Republicans in this very red area, I’m certain I’ve been “monitored”, for all the good it’s done them. I can heartily disagree with every part of this horrible administration and still NOT be in any way a supporter of Al Qaeda, or any other terrorist group or individual. I believe in the “Peace and Love” message of Jesus - too bad this administration doesn’t listen to the words of their savior while they’re thumping their Bibles and waving their flags. How many Megatons do you think Jesus would use on innocent civilians? Shock and Awe, indeed.

“The Sept. 11 attacks ‘did not give the president the limitless power he now claims to intrude on the private communications of the American people,’ the N.Y. Times says in an editorial about the NSA spying story.” Of course it didn’t, but the Constitution did. All he has to do is start a war, which John Yoo assures us he has the perfect right to do any time he pleases. Then his powers as Commander-in-Chief really kick in. He can spy on, detain, and crush the testicles of anyone he thinks necessary for the protection of the American people. Just ask John Yoo.
