Hillary Clinton and Rupert Murdoch
Clinton: smh.com.au / Murdoch: dnevnik.com.hr

Democratic New York Sen. Hillary Clinton has formed an unorthodox alliance of late with right-wing media baron Rupert Murdoch.

Just who is this woman who is accepting a fundraiser thrown by Rupert Murdoch, asks columnist Richard Cohen in this incisive piece.

  • Meanwhile, Hillary defends cozying up with the rabidly right-wing Murdoch: “He’s my constituent.”
    Oh, puh-leeze!

  • Washington Post:

I know a businessman who says that if the answer to a question is not about money, the question has to be restated. If that applied to politics, the answer to the question of who the Democratic presidential nominee will be in 2008 would be simple: Hillary Clinton. She has far and away the most money.

But politics is not just about money—not quite yet, anyway—if only because ideology and principles are not yet “products.” That being the case (I hope), then Hillary Clinton’s vast lead in fundraising—she now has more than $20 million in the bank—will be offset by growing questions about her principles and ideology. In other words, who is this woman who wants to be the next president of the United States? Is she the wife of Bill Clinton, who we were once led to believe was more liberal than he was, or is she actually far more conservative? The answer, at the moment, is something I cannot provide.

Now that I think about it some more, I cain’t figgur eggsactly why y’all Leftists-neo-Marxists are whoopin’ up on Ol’ Hillary’s big fat ass all of a sudden. Hell, thay ain’t a Politician in Worshington whut don’t get thar pichure took with somebody they claim to be dead against; that and ye’d be surprised from jest whar and who runnin’ money comes from sometimes. Time was y’all thought she wuz sent by the Spirit of Leon Trotsky to save the world and institute a Totalitarian Socialist State to raise yer kids fer ya and you wuz happy as a hawg in a waller. Now yer cussin’ her. Makes me think thar mite even be one them “ulterior motives” at play here. Like I say she’s “had the lick.” You seem to know it as well and are pilin’ on...Which don’t break my heart, I mean that woman’s pure evil...But if ye ask me y’all a cagey bunch. Even if you do lack autonomy of reason.

The divide between the working class and the elites is so wide now that unless a third party grassroots candidate emerges, we’re screwed.  I hope the Clintons don’t ruin Bono- I read he and his family visit them for barbecues.  Or maybe even he has already had the koolaid.

This just shows for the umpty-umpth time that as far as our representatives in Congress are concerned, their job is to take care of number one.  No surprise.  That’s just the way it is..  Let’s face it, our founding fathers may have had some good intentions (setting aside for the moment their racist nonsense about a slave being 3/5 human), but they blew it, clear and simple.  Their checks and balances hoax has broke down and good riddance.  Can it be patched-up?  What for?  To see it collapse once again under the weight of rampant greed and corruption?  Besides, time’s running out on us, what with global warming and such, so we have to come up with a system that not only replaces this here representative form of government but actually delivers for real on our liberty and justice for all pledge.  Fortunately for us there is such a system.  It’s called direct democracy..  ..

Nope, as is said in the south any fool can see she’s “done had the lick.” It won’t be Hillary that goes in in ‘08, it’ll be a revamped John Kerry, and this time the line of shit they feed the electorate about him will work...then he’ll attack Iran. Politics frankly, are diabolic. Why do you think us ignernt Rednecks call the Devil “Ol’ Nick?” fer our health? Y’all go figger.

I used to be big Hillary fan, back in the good ol’ Clinton days.  These days, I am completely put off by her spineless, I’m whoever I need to be to get the nomination politics.  I’m in despair, because the left would never vote for her, and she’s alienating the very people who should have been her base.  If she IS the democratic nominee, the Democrats are doomed, and we’ll have to face yet another four years (at least) of Republican politics.

Hilary is a right-wing democrat. Like Libermann.

No Hilary, you will not get my vote even if you become the candidate in the ‘08. Never, never, never.

Murdoch is investing in getting the Democratic nomination for Hillary, not in case she wins, because she won’t, but in order to ensure that a Republican is elected.  To me, Murdoch fundraising for Hillary is the surest sign that she has no chance of winning the general, no matter how much money she has.  Hillary would be the equivalent of the Democratic party committing hari kari...except I don’t see that fate as being so honorable.

FYI. It may be that Hilary’s cozying should not be such a surprise.  In the book, “The Right Nation,” references are made to Mrs. Clinton’s early political years and her strong support of Barry Goldwater.  Some of the quotes are as follows: “[t]his dynamism helped explain why in 1964 clever young Hillary Rodham was a Goldwater girl right down to her fake cowgirl outfit” (p.10); there is a photograph of Goldwater and the underlying caption reads “[t]he Barry Goldwater whom Hillary Rodham...fell for”; and finally, the book states that “[e]ven her mawkish memoir can be interpreted as a complicated piece of centrist politicking...went out of her way to establish that the Clinton marriage was...not just some union of political convenience, and talked about...her teenage affection for Barry Goldwater. Like Kerry and the rest of them, she knows the importance of electability.”

She makes it tough to subscribe to the idea that she believes in anything but herself.  And until she makes her beliefs clearly defined and adhere to them on the Hill, then who, left or right actually trust her?

I’m sorry, Hillary, I don’t have big bucks, so I guess I’m not welcome at your party, and, I guess, you don’t need my vote. Since you are, the polls tells me, the leading Democrat, then I guess that party doesn’t need my support either. What a sad, deprerssing jokethe Democrats have become. Do they really think they can regain the congress? Why?

Who the hell is Hillary?  She’s a cipher, in other words a nonentity.  She’s whoever you want her to be.  If she wants your money - 20 million bucks ain’t chicken feed - she will be someone you want to give money to.  The question is will you get a return on your investment.  Since she is obviously amoral, the answer is up for grabs. Foreinstance, the flag burning thing was ostensibly to satisfy some New York constiuents.  The money is in the bank.  So where’s the flag burning amendment.

The ‘magic’ of Hillary is Bill. He was (is?) a genius of a politician—eminently electable .
The American people realize that by electing Hillary, you get Bill again. It might work. The Murdock thing? It’s some kind of political calculation. I just want to see this brand of the Republican Party out of power! So, I say go! Whoever can beat the Corporate-Empire-Christian-Fascist Republicans, go! If that’s Hillary, then go Hillary!
