Domestic Spying
From wcsh6.com

With Republicans and Democrats demanding answers about the alleged NSA phone record collection program, Bush will apparently address the issue today.

  • GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham: “The idea of collecting millions or thousands of phone numbers, how does that fit into following the enemy?”
  • GOP Sen. Arlen Specter vows to get answers from AT&T, Verizon and Bell South.
  • Democratic Sen. Pat Leahy: “It is our government, it’s not one party’s government.”

  • AP:

WASHINGTON - Congressional Republicans and Democrats demanded answers from the Bush administration Thursday about a government spy agency secretly collecting records of ordinary Americans’ phone calls to build a database of every call made within the country.

The White House said President Bush would speak to the issue. Bush was to comment before leaving for a commencement address at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Biloxi.

The top-ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee said he was shocked by the revelation about the National Security Agency.

Congress has been taking a long sleep and lots of money.
Will they wake up before it is too late.  Naturally they could keep the change.
