Sure. And today (5/13/06) Bush says that “monitoring” of domestic calls is done with court approval. Which court is that? FISA? Where are the court records? Will anything finally move The Press (aside from John Stewart, Keith Olberman, and the now-on-hiatus Bill Maher) to cover the core of this and related stories? Like, who cares about claims that he’s only spying on Al Qaeda—what about spying on political adversaries (a la Watergate) for advantage in the upcoming 06 elections? Remember: This bit about spying on *all* americans goes back 3 years, which would be 2003, which would be before the last, narrowly *lost* election for America. That’s the core that should be focused on in our dawning lives under attempted totalitarianism. Gay this, immigration that—those are intended distractions aimed at keeping the neocons engaged in the upcoming election. Let’s keep the focus where it belongs. We must all keep at writing congress members and news readers, and hopefully keep their feet to the fire on what should be the focus of talk and investigation.

There is one thing that is certain. Bush will never be compared to George Washington-who supposedly never told a lie.

Do we get mad at Bush or laugh at him?
Or do feel the sense of sadness over something gone horribly wrong that comes before we resolve to DO something about it?
We the people CAN hold everyone accountable who has violated their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution ... starting with President Bush. We can speak out in forums like this and in our communities ... and we can vote.
We the people CAN do something. Instead of stampeding like scared cows, or huddling like frightened sheep ... we can act in our own individual lives according to the examples of men and women who have made a difference ... WITHOUT GETTING ELECTED TO ANYTHING!
We are a free people.

“The president claims that the program activities ‘strictly target Al Qaeda and their known affiliates,’ despite USA Todays claim the the NSA has pored over the records of tens of millions of Americans.” Ergo, there are tens of millions of Americans who are Al Qaeda affiliates. I’ve long suspected my neighbor across the street. My wife thinks he a Mexican, but I’m not so sure.
