Iranians Fault Rice’s Dismissal of Letter

An Iranian diplomat says that Condoleezza Rice squandered a potential “turning point” in U.S.-Iranian relations by her “hasty” rejection of a letter from the Iranian president to Bush. (Read the letter)

AP:

TEHRAN, Iran - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s abrupt dismissal of a letter from Iran’s president might only strengthen hardline attitudes and mistrust of America, some Iranians warned Tuesday.

As President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad began a high-profile visit to a key Muslim country, Indonesia, a former top Iranian official said Rice’s response will give new justification to those who oppose ties with the U.S.

Iran’s former ambassador to France, Sadeq Kharrazi, said the letter — the first from an Iranian head of state to an American president in 27 years — “could have been a turning point in relations.” But he said Rice squandered the opportunity with what he called a “hasty reaction.”

So much for new-found American diplomacy.  Bush and his minions suffer from a severe case of American exceptionalism, let’s add arrogance. Isn’t God on our side?  And, didn’t George say bring ‘em on!  (Of course he’ll be five miles underground in a padded bunker)

any reasoned comment from ms. rice would conflict with the insatiable greed and lust for world dominance that is the driving force of bushreich.

ms. rice is a principal of a criminal enterprise engaged the wholesale slaughter of tens of thousands of innocent people including 2500 american soldiers for the spoils of war.

she is a dispicable pig at the trogh of her own vile ambition, blinded from any sense of decency or humanity.  human refuse.

I’m afraid that it is all too obvious that this administration is not the least bit interested in a dialogue or any bi-lateral relationship with Iran.  What we demand is kowtowing to our unilateral proclamations.  This is what Bush wanted from Iraq also.  This business with Iran has no more to do with nuclear technology then the Iraq invasion had to do with yellow cake or wmd.  Purely and simply the issue is domination and power.  Unfortuately for us, most of the rest of the world already understand that is the US purpose under this regime, but many Americans still don’t get it.

Having read the latter it is almost incomprehensible how such fools can run the USA.

Talk about squandering a Golden Opportunity!
