Porter Goss and Bush
AP

Just-resigned CIA Director Porter Goss and President Bush.

Resigning unexpectedly 19 months after taking the job, Porter Goss leaves the spy agency in a “free fall,” according to earlier comments by one congresswoman. The CIA has been plagued with personnel losses and criticism by former officers.

AP:

CIA Director Porter Goss resigned unexpectedly Friday, leaving behind a spy agency still battling to recover from the scars of intelligence failures before America’s worst terrorist attack and faulty information that formed the U.S. rationale for invading Iraq.

It was the latest move in a second-term shake-up of President Bush’s team.

Making the announcement from the Oval Office, Bush called Goss’ tenure one of transition.

“He has led ably,” Bush said, Goss at his side. “He has a five-year plan to increase the analysts and operatives.”

Goss said the trust, confidence and latitude that Bush placed in him “is something I could have never imagined.”

Isnt it obvious that Negroponte and the cons are consolidating their strangle-hold on the US government.  Now the CIA will fall under the rubric of the military, a general no less to replace Goss will keep the power in the hands of the Pentagon, the secret underground of the Cheneyville horrors etc.  In case no one has yet grokked...the neo con agenda is world domination. This is just one more step.  A nation of sheep is only deestined to be led to the slaughter,

Evidently Goss just did not “hit it off” with Dubya.  That should be at least credited to him.  Hitting it off with that moron of a president should be a badge of dishonor.

Paula Zahn appears to believe she is in a movie, acting a part -

And, she is as poor an actress as she is even a pseudo-journalist.

The only interesting point I’ve seen in MSM is this from the Chicago Trib:

“Negroponte, with the backing of the White House, raised with Goss the prospect that he should leave, and the two talked about that possibility, a senior administration official said, speaking on condition of anonymity to provide a fuller account of what happened.”
