Mexico to Allow Some Heroin, Coke and Ecstasy UsePosted on Apr 29, 2006The all-but-passed bill would allow Mexicans to possess small amounts of hard drugs for personal use. Some U.S. observers fear this will prove a huge draw for Americans.

enabling the usage of drugs because it is believed to free the federalis to prosecute the “big boys” is a ridiculous notion that sends mixed messages to law abiding citizens. when will it ever be too much? it is the obligation of the country to look towards the welfare of their community, legalizing such chemically dependent drugs on the streets is NEVER okay.

As someone who enjoys a good bottly of wine as much as good Marijuana, I applaud the Mexican’s guts. American puritanism is looking weider by the day in the eyes of the world.

Why does it say “cocaine, heroin, even ecstasy” ? The fatality rate for heroin is far and away higher than ecstasy. Both it and cocaine are chemically addictive and much more damaging to society in terms of crime and chemical dependency than ecstasy.
I’m not saying ecstasy is good, but it appears the writer thinks it’s worse than cocaine and heroin, which is an absurd notion.

Hats off to you President Fox and The Mexican Lawmakers! It’s about time that someone has realized that going after and prosecuting a user of drugs is like going after a rape victim and prosecuting them. Our police and prisons are filled with users. We ruin the lives of young people for carrying a small amount of drugs for personal use. We give them an arrest record, we lock them up with violent and hardcore prisoners. Than we expect them to learn from what we have done to them, but make it almost impossible to get a job of value with an arrest record. If the US would decriminalize drugs and spend the money on education, we would be far better off.
