Bush Gives a Thumbs Up
From CNN.com

President Bush’s accidental wit and wisdom have filled volumes of snarky books.

The famously anti-intellectual president tells reporters: ” ... I read the front page and I know the speculation. But I’m the decider and I decide what’s best. And what’s best is for Don Rumsfeld to remain as the secretary of defense.” (Via Huff Po.)
“I’m the decider, and I decide what’s best” ... someone call Jacob Weisberg to update his “Bushisms” book.

AP:

President Bush on Tuesday nominated Trade Representative Rob Portman (news, bio, voting record) as the White House budget director, turning to a Washington insider and longtime friend as part of an effort to re-energize the administration and boost the president’s record-low approval ratings.
Bush also selected Susan Schwab, the deputy trade representative, to move up to the top trade job, replacing Portman.

Bush said more changes are in the works under his new chief of staff, Joshua Bolten.

“With a new man will come some changes,” the president said. But he emphasized anew that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s job is safe, despite calls for his resignation from a half dozen retired military commanders.

Well actually Mr. President… that’s not quite true…

Maybe you have forgotten something, obviously since you seem to be so focused on being the decider…

Mr. Rumsfeld was not appointed for life, no…

You nominated him, and the Senate confirmed him…..do you get my drift….?

and it is within the powers of the Senate to Impeach him…

That’s right Mr. Rumsfeld can be impeached same as you…

and since it seems pretty unanimous that both sides of the aisle hate Mr. Rumsfelds guts, I’d say there’s a pretty good chance that this could happen…

especially since the Republicans are looking for a way out of the mess before the mid term elections…

Nothing could make them look better… than to Impeach Rumsfeld…it has a nice ring to it don’t it…?

Everyone knows that the front page is mostly just flash and no substance.  The good stuff is in the back.
