Mazher Mahmood, Investigations Editor of the News of the World (UK), may have garnered the wrong kind of publicity when he tried to goad Respect Party M.P. George Galloway into making anti-semitic remarks (which he didn’t). Galloway successfully sued for the right to publish pictures of Mahmood.

Mazher Mahmood, a British reporter who dresses up as a wealthy Arab businessman to entrap high-profile victims in sting operations, has been publicly outed by a member of Parliament.

‘Gotcha’ Master Tastes His Own Medicine

LONDON—He has duped England’s soccer coach, members of the royal family and a procession of philandering athletes and petty criminals, getting them to commit indiscretions that were then splashed as scoops on the front page of one of Britain’s most rambunctious tabloids, News of the World.

But Mazher Mahmood, a reporter whose modus operandi is to dress up as a wealthy Arab businessman and secretly record conversations with his unwitting victims, recently met his match in George Galloway, a member of the British Parliament and frequent critic of Israel and the United States.

Mr. Galloway, who represents a heavily Muslim area of East London, “outed” the reporter by publishing photos of him on the Internet after a court battle with News of the World. The pictures went up on georgegalloway.com, Mr. Galloway’s Web site, this month after a meeting in which Mr. Galloway contended that Mr. Mahmood tried to goad him into making anti-Semitic remarks and to accept improper political contributions.

The ‘fake mulitmillionaire sheikh’ was a master of putting his victims under the impresion that they were to benefit finacially in a handsome way from knowing him. He would slyly coax his victims into saying things that they might not have otherwise said/done, whilst they were under his coniving influence.

George galloway , who used to be a labour MP, but now represents his constituents as a ‘respect’ party MP, did a great job in exposing the exposer. the straight talking galloway is a natural orator and debator, and he has the guts to stand up against the corrupt leaders of the west.

By the way, i find it strange that he is described as ‘representing a heavily muslim area’ as this has absolutly no bearing on the story. i wonder how many times we have heard that a politician ‘represents a heavily jewish or christian area’ when talking about topics that are absolutly nothing to do with the issue.

FrikkenKids, since when was a bunch of corrupt politicians in Washington the end all, be all of what the truth is, especially as we see the majority of US governance as lying and corrupt, your assertation relies on the prsentation of suspect and heavily controlled evidence and if thats the best the Senate has got, then it just reaffirms what a bunch of losers they all are.

Just to let you know ... with regards the assertion made by Frikkenkids ... here’s a link, you can read what happened the last time the Yanks tried to pin that on Galloway. He’s the ONLY guy willing to stand up and tell them they’re totally full of it. Not ONE of the Yank politicians has had the guts to do so.

Just to let you know, George Galloway was found by the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations to be a profiteer from Saddam Hussein’s regime and its manipulation of the oil-for-food program.
