British Prime Minister Tony Blair has told Bush that the UK will not offer any support to strike Iran, regardless of whether there is a U.N. mandate to do so, according to The Scotsman newspaper.

The Scotsman:

Tony Blair has told George Bush that Britain cannot offer military support to any strike on Iran, regardless of whether the move wins the backing of the international community, government sources claimed yesterday.

Amid increasing tension over Tehran’s attempts to develop a military nuclear capacity, the Prime Minister has laid bare the limits of his support for President Bush, who is believed to be considering an assault on Iran, Foreign Office sources revealed.

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is calling on the United Nations to consider new sanctions against Tehran when the Security Council meets next week to discuss the developing crisis. Blair is expected to support the call for a “Chapter 7” resolution, which could effectively isolate Iran from the international community.

Iran is Iraq all over again.  The sad thing is, that this time even if Bush is correct, I will never believe him nor will the rest of the world.

This just proves my point.

In the absence of true legitimate leadership, find someone to go to war with.  War usually accomplishes several things:
•It can improve our economy.
•It can make the defense contractors rich(Halliburton)
•It can even make a dope of a president look firm, decisive….

But, the key is it at least it makes the president look active.

If it was not for the Iraq skirmish, President Bush would be the lame duck of all time.

Bush should secretly thank his lucky stars for the Iraq situation.  Right or wrong, he looks busy.

As I understand the situation, Iran, a highly intelligent 4,000 year old civilization, takes in approximately 100 MILLION dollars PROFIT per DAY in oil sales and has China and Russia as business partners and allies.

What sanctions, exactly, does Bush & Co think will have the slightest impact on Iran’s leadership?

I predict Iran will have a nuclear weapon ready to test by end of 2007. If Bush keeps yapping at them, he’ll be lucky if they don’t test it using Pennsylvania Avenue as Ground Zero!
