Generals v. Rumsfeld
From nytimes.com

The following recently retired military generals have called for the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld: Top, from left, Major Gen. Paul D. Eaton, Gen. Anthony C. Zinni, Lt. Gen. Gregory Newbold; above, Major Gen. John Batiste, Major Gen. John Riggs and Major Gen. Charles H. Swannack Jr.

Read the New York Times’ take on the growing list. But check out CNN’s ”Five reasons why Rumsfeld won’t leave easily.” Also, Bush is standing firmly with his war architect.

Update: Rep. Harold Ford calls for Rumsfeld’s resignation.

NY Times:

More Retired Generals Call for Rumsfeld’s Resignation
By DAVID S. CLOUD and ERIC SCHMITT

WASHINGTON, April 13—The widening circle of retired generals who have stepped forward to call for Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld’s resignation is shaping up as an unusual outcry that could pose a significant challenge to Mr. Rumsfeld’s leadership, current and former generals said on Thursday.

Maj. Gen. Charles H. Swannack Jr., who led troops on the ground in Iraq as recently as 2004 as the commander of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, on Thursday became the fifth retired senior general in recent days to call publicly for Mr. Rumsfeld’s ouster. Also Thursday, another retired Army general, Maj. Gen. John Riggs, joined in the fray.

“We need to continue to fight the global war on terror and keep it off our shores,” General Swannack said in a telephone interview. “But I do not believe Secretary Rumsfeld is the right person to fight that war based on his absolute failures in managing the war against Saddam in Iraq.”

When do we STOP TRUSTING and Demand Answers to Our Questions?

Maybe, it’s best not believe everything you hear?  I’m sorry, but even though I’m not happy with the Iraq war and have suspicious feelings regarding Rumsfeld, I want a FULL INVESTIGATION of other matters FIRST!

My feelings are strong since I know well about the corruption in the Federal Level after being in a criminal family for more than 26 years that is part of it.  We must not forget that we were LIED into going to war in the first place.  Maybe we need to ask ourselves, “Why did they have to LIE to us?” My past life experience in this tells me it was to support corruption!  Sounds a bit strange, but please remember that in order to have corruption, there needs to be solid ”reasons” to spend money.  Without reasons, there won’t be any spending, thus NO corruption!  My list is long and growing longer each day as “Why was Able Danger covered up”?  When I start to add up all the questions regarding the Iraq war, Katrina and other things, all I have are MORE questions.  Don’t you come up with the same thing?

What bothers me greatly is what I know about being in a criminal family who’s involved in what was bragged to be “The World’s Largest Criminal System”.  In the family, it was also a well known fact that we have a criminal element within our Military who’s interest is in corruption and other criminal activities.  Like many of you, as an example, I’ve read many articles that raise questions about money spent in Iraq.

Don’t get me wrong, I also blame Rumsfeld, Bush, Cheney and others. But I have a focus and with what I know, my interest isn’t to want to play games.  I want answers for a growing list of questions FIRST!  This criminal group is highly skilled in dragging us around by our noses, so maybe it would be wise not to react so fast!  Maybe it’s time to ask questions instead?

Maybe we need to ask, just WHO is at the center of wiretapping U.S. Citizens?  For what purpose?  The news still leaks out that it’s beyond what they said it was and it gets worse each time more leaks out! Let’s get this straightened out!

Pardon me, but I have to ask you a personal question.  When do you STOP trusting and START asking questions?  Has our Trust in Public officials and the Military been violated?

Trust is something important we give to others.  Just because you believe they are telling us the truth, doesn’t mean they are telling us the truth!  Sorry, I’ve reached my limit with lies as there have been far too many lies to support trusting any of them.  If you haven’t noticed, our questions are met with more lies and intentional spinning to divert our attention.  Honestly, how would you treat your children if they lied to you as often and with such seriousness that we get from our Corrupt Public Officials and our Corrupt Military?  Folks, I’m reading articles that warn that our great Democratic Country, founded on blood, sweat and tears is about to turn into a Fascist run country!  My God, is there any truth to this?

Something else you need to know…..There is a huge Corruption Laundromat where our tax dollars end up known as “Mandarin Oriental Group”.  It’s owned by Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, who also owns Dubai.  Dubia was recently in the news regarding our Sea Ports, remember that one?  Mandarin also has MOB ties!  I’ve been talking about this for a long time, why hasn’t this been looked into?

Folks, I’m worried about our future and our children’s future.  We need to get to the bottom of this before we play more of their games.  We need answers and we need them now!  First we need to know whom in our Political and Military areas we can truly trust!  From that point, we can build a new future.

By Clean the White House Blood OUT!, April 14, 2006 at 6:08 pm #

I commend the generals for speaking out.  There is so much icompetent BLOOD in this White House.....that the world is laughing at us.  For the wimps that can’t speak out retire!  Most of the savy soldiers in special forces really know what is happening and why!

The WAR HAPPY PEOPLE are going to be in for some great surprises.
1. currency fraud coming to usa
2. commodities index follows WARS....up up and away.... $ 6.00 for toothpaste coming to you. 5 dollars a gallon gas = 110 a barrel via goldman sachs, 14 % percent interest rates, mass unemployment in 2007: these little gems go along with WAR...hope the HAPPY WAR supporters can pay for them; if they have jobs!!!!!!!
We invaded Afghanistan cause of TAPS pipeline and access to the Caspen Sea.....the cia offered the taliban 41M to leave....no ...so we invaded.... after ops were moved to Iraq..the hell with OBL. We invaded Iraq because Saddam stated “ no oil will be sold in DOLLARS only euro’s on 11/2000” ! Note the date of his announcement. Take him (SADDAM)to the wood shed. After the US puppet government set up.....first barrels out of IRAQ were switched to DOLLARS from EUROS....Duh.... Now Iran was to OPEN an oil exchange on March 2006 to compete with OUR NYMEX. So we open one in UAE .....but we didn;t give them the ports.  So its back to IRAN.  Additionally, all OIL will be sold in EUROS in IRAN! AS for our FED he has closed off “ M3” figures as of March 2006. I could say more but I best not. What is M3 = bond figures, us government repo’s, foreign currency buying/dumping stats,....the dumb american public better wake up...tick tick tick
Sincerely,
Mother of US Special Forces Soldier and
direct relative to a deceased 4 star general of the Vietnam War.

If the sad sack privates, corporals, and sergeants have to take the fall for Abu Ghraib, no matter what their superiors said and did, if they should have “known better” and refused to follow immoral orders, what are we to make of the generals who did Rumsfeld, Bush, and Cheney’s bidding? Obviously they knew better all along. Only from the safety of retirement do they voice any dissent.

These generals are no less war criminals than Bush, et al, and nothing they do post-retirement can ever mitigate that fact. We should not congratulate the newly enlightened skeptics, but instead condemn them for not coming forward when it might have meant something.
