Kerry Calls for Iraq Pullout Deadline

Kerry Calls for PulloutT
From ussenate.gov

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) wrote of the American presence in Iraq:  “We will defeat Al Qaeda faster when we stop serving as its best recruitment tool. Iraqis ultimately will not tolerate foreign jihadists on their soil.”

In the N.Y. Times, the former presidential candidate calls for two deadlines: May 15 for the Iraqis to form a unity government, and a date later in the year for the U.S. to pull out.

Op-Ed article by John Kerry in the N.Y. Times:

We are now in the third war in Iraq in as many years. The first was against Saddam Hussein and his supposed weapons of mass destruction. The second was against terrorists whom, the administration said, it was better to fight over there than here. Now we find our troops in the middle of an escalating civil war.

Half of the service members listed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall died after America’s leaders knew our strategy would not work. It was immoral then and it would be immoral now to engage in the same delusion. We want democracy in Iraq, but Iraqis must want it as much as we do. Our valiant soldiers can’t bring democracy to Iraq if Iraq’s leaders are unwilling themselves to make the compromises that democracy requires.

As our generals have said, the war cannot be won militarily. It must be won politically. No American soldier should be sacrificed because Iraqi politicians refuse to resolve their ethnic and political differences.

BEWARE!  Kerry is not America’s answer!  He is the fraternity brother (Skull and Bones) of our current dictator…oops, i ment Christian Conservative leader.  They have the same aganda.  There goal is to fight three consecutive wars.  It is all on record.  Don’t beleive me?  Research it yourself.  Stop having the T.V. be your source of whats going on in this world.  Research the Project for a New American Century(PNAC).

I’m a Vietnam vet who served just after the TET offensive in 1968. Thats the point in the war when it was obvious like Kerry says that our strategy wasn’t working. The first time I visited the Vietnam Memorial I didn’t cry or anything like I thought I might.

I was too angry!

I went to the point on the wall where the names of guys that I served with were listed and what hit me like a ton of bricks was the sight of all the names of men who died AFTER that! It looked like almost half the total. Men who died so this country and Richard Nixon could save face and not admit the way George McGovern would have that we had made a tragic mistake and withdrawal was the only honest option.

Let’s not make the same mistake in Iraq!

It’s way past time to set some deadlines for getting out of this mess bush and his gang of chickenhawks have created.  The sooner we’re out, the better for Iraq and for the US.
This plan forces a unity government, and that’s the the best we can hope for for all concerned.
May 15 or out.

Let’s hope Sen Kerry’s plan gets some support in congress. Write, call your congress people and the media and tell them to support this strategy!

Arabs wouldn’t be so fed up with America if we reduced our footprint in the Middle East.
