The Arizona senator tries (and fails) to explain why he’s voting for tax cuts for the wealthy that he once opposed. He also lamely tries to explain his newfound embrace of Jerry Falwell, the man he once called “an agent of intolerance.”


Crooks and Liars:

John McCain joined Tim Russert on MTP this morning and was challenged on a number of issues, including his newfound affection for Jerry Falwell.

Russert: Do you believe that Jerry Falwell is still an agent of intolerance?

McCain: No, I don’t. I think that Jerry Falwell can explain how his views on this program when you have him on.

I wonder is pandering related to McCain as steroid use is to Bonds?

Now, I don’t claim that Senator McCain is a panderer or that Barry Bonds is a user ...

But in the run-up to the rumors of their being such, both were reported as envious of others who were ...

Mostly for me with McCain, I got turned off when he jumped back into bed with Bush #43 after the Bushies slandered him down South. I know McCain is a hero and all that, and I’m just a farm boy from Northern Minnesota, but really ... some things speak to the soul of a person.
