From Brad Blog

Jon Stewart skewers President Bush on his choice in replacing Andy Card as chief of staff.

His take on Bush’s appointment of Josh Bolten as chief of staff: “He just gave a promotion to the guy in charge of our $9-trillion debt. You know what? I really think if you walked into a cabinet meeting and started hurling your feces at the wall, Bush would name a state after you.”

Brad Blog:

STEWART: Joshua Bolton who has been working in the White House for Bush’s entire Presidency. He spent two years working under Andy card. The last three years he’s been in charge of the Office of Management and Budget.

In other words, he just gave a promotion to the guy who is in charge of our $9 trillion debt.

You know what? I really think if you walked into a cabinet meeting and started hurling your feces at the wall—Bush would name a state after you.

Bolten is as responsible as anyone for the tax cuts that created large deficits, the (intentional) understatement of the cost of the new drug entitlement, and has to take significant responsibility for the toxic mix of arrogance and incompetence on display throughout the George W. Administration.

Jon Stewart’s attempt to satirize W’s pattern of promoting people who have screwed up whatever they were supposed to be doing last ought to teach us one thing: That the present inslumbents really are beyond satire much of the time.

Either Maureen Dowd or Molly Ivins (sorry, I don’t remember which) said of Bush “He failed his way to the top.”  The people he promotes are his disciples, and they are doing the same thing.

This Administration keeps on making mistakes after
mistakes.  What we need is the American People to wake up and take back our Country.  First by voting this November 6, 2006 cleaning out the US
Congress, putting people in office who will bring
to the forefront the issues we have always stood by, Rights, Healthcare, Elderly, Education, the
Environment, the Economy and ending this horrible
WAR, bringing home all our service people.  Then
we can get on with dealing with the liars, law
breakers, prison abusers, by prosecution of our
Constitution of these United States taking them
to court and convicting them ALL.  We can and will do this.
S A Franco
